Just to get your blood pressures up:

ORCAS ISLAND, Wash. (AP) - Vandals burned dozens of small American flags that decorated veterans’ graves for Memorial Day and replaced many of them with hand-drawn swastikas, authorities said Monday.

Forty-six flag standards were found empty and another 33 flags were in charred tatters Sunday in the cemetery, authorities said. Swastikas drawn on paper appeared where 14 of the flags had been.

That’s nothing compared to what would appear in the empty eye sockets of the perpetrators where their eyes had been, were I to get my hands on them.

So whodunnit? Well, as stupid as the hippie leftovers from the sixties are, I much doubt that they had anything to do with it. They’re more the “make giant puppets, smoke weed and sing ‘Kumbaya’” sort of idiots. Dumb as bricks, but generally averse to deliberately causing offense of the malicious sort.

The Neo-Nazis? Give me a break. For one thing, the Nazi pricks masturbate to their beloved symbols of genocide and hatred too much to ever publicly display something as crude as the hand-drawn abominations placed on those graves. The swastika-worshiping mental midgets have the thread count of an authentic Hitler Youth armband committed to memory and the exact dimensions of a properly drawn swastika tattooed on the tips of their tiny penises. Not to mention that you’d have to be pretty damn stupid to think that the Nazis would use their most hallowed symbol as an insult.

Which leaves us with the usual suspects. You know, the ones carrying signs saying “we support the troops. As long as they shoot their officers” or publishing posts on their blogs displaying their derision of Americans murdered by terrorists in foreign lands by saying “Screw them!”

They’re often referred to as the Nutroots.

Those are the droids you’re looking for.

Investigators believe there’s more than one culprit, based on the number of flags that were vandalized, Cumming said in a telephone interview. But authorities have no suspects, he said.

The sheriff said deputies were trying to lift fingerprints off what little physical evidence they were able to recover.

Just point me in the right direction and I’ll return the fingers to you.

It’d be my pleasure and my civic duty.

Any time, any time at all.

I’m the freak amongst my friends because I believe anyone over the age of 13 who defaces or vandalizes a grave stone/marker intentionally should receive the death penalty.
That’s right - 14 years old, out with friends, think it would be cool to knock over some headstones? How about spray painting them? How about tearing up the flowers someone left?
March the cocksucker down to the death chamber, put a needle in his vein, and watch his family cry as the potassium chloride is pumped into his veins.
Needless to say, I’m not on the fence on this issue. Some things should be kept sacred as a universal truth that no exceptions should be given, ever.

When I last visited Gettysburg, I stumbled across the Negro cemetary in town. There are lots of African american Civil War vets buried there as well as local free blacks who lived there in the Civil War days and after. It’s not well kept up, and when I was there it had been badly vandalized a couple of months before. I had met up with a friend of mine from Virginia that morning to give him a tour of the field and he knew of this cemetary, when we got there and found out what had happened…we spent the remainder of the day resetting headstones, putting headstones back together that had been split in half, and cleaning the place up and then we placed flags all over the place. It was a hell of a good thing for my soul, and I hope for the souls of the people who rest there as well.

Anyone who goes and disturbs the final resting place of ANYBODY is as low as they come in my book. They deserve to be eternally terrorized by the souls they disturb and I hope to God that happens.

ACLPoo, I don’t think you’re punishment is harsh enough man….

Too bad this didn’t happen last weekend when I was fishing off of Orcas Island. I know more than a few locals (a lot of them veterans) on neighboring San Juan Island who would gladly exercise their 2nd Amendment rights on these scum.

Believe me, this won’t set well up there. There’s a considerable nutroot population on those islands, but they’re offset by a lot of Freeper types and independant minded folk who think pretty highly of this country and the veterans who defended it.

No. Death would be far too kind.

Better yet, catch the little shits who did it, tattoo their crime on their forehead and an American flag on their bellies and their backs, etching the thing they hate most onto them for good. Pull their fingernails out, so every time they touch something, they will feel the sting. March them down the street, announcing their crime to the world and dump them someplace far and barren, dragging them the whole way

Then, when their final day comes, perhaps, they may be pennitant.

I’ve posted several times about this, and it is outrageous. I think it would upset just about everybody, including anti-war protestors. Jaybear said that area also has anarchists. Not to offend the anarchist on board (who would never do that), it seems more like an anarchist thing than a war protestor thing. Oh yeah–do the one thing that would piss off every one in the country and have them hate you–really good for your cause.

    IS THIS AN URBAN LEGEND?
“we support the troops. As long as they shoot their officers”
I live in a really liberal area and have never seen that. have never seen it in the giant mound of liberal mailings I get. It’s pretty extreme. I think you are taking asshole left-wing extremists and concluding that every war protestor is like that. I don’t think so! You think the church people who are protesting would say something like that? There is always a fringe group that discredits the majority. Here the protestors put crosses on the beach. Scary. Any time a veteran comes back in this area, it gets a lot of news coverage, and they are greatly welcomed back. With all the protesting in the area, nobody gives them shit. They are just happy to see they’re okay. The war protestors here want the troops to be safe. (Yes, I know that wanting to bring them home is considered evil–that has been explained to me. No need to go there.)

    and yes.

it’s also home to a city where the mayor looked out his office window at the WTO demonstrators sacking the downtown business district and waxed nostalgically about how it reminded him of his protesting days in the 60’s

It’s home to King County, where in the last gubernatorial election, the Republican candidate won the first two recounts but lost in the third and final one because surprise..surprise…Democrat controlled King County was the last to be counted and they magically “found” a box of ballots that had not been counted before. Thereby giving the democrat a 123 vote victory.

We have Sasquatch, the Fremont troll, sex offenders paroled and living among the general population, Vietnamese gangs…Mexican gangs…Black gangs…Neo-Nazi gangs…the Mariners…and little groups of reasonably sane, rightward thinking people like BlackisWhite, Kwongdzu, Ranger6, and me….did I leave any Northwest Rotties out?

I’m just biding my time in very very leftwing King County until I can retire up to San Juan Island and fish my days away, and plink at the various pieces of driftwood floating by with my M1. perhaps I can sight in on a vandal or two while I’m at it.

Aha Jaybear, I found you (don’t take that the wrong way)

This was a post from a thread that went away, and I really seriously wanted to ask you about something you said. There could be two different interpretations.

“Bottom line Psychochick, you are on the wrong side…it is a side that is so blinded by it’s hatred of anything spelled Bush, that they will willingly undermine this war with the islamonazis if it makes Bush look bad. They care nothing about this country or it’s troops, and you are too eloquent and obviously too smart to be a part of that. Do one of two things please, either join us as an American and recognize what’s at stake in this war or slap the hell out of every liberal you know and tell them to WAKE THE HELL UP!!!.”

Does join us as an American mean that I am an American who should join your side, or that I am not an American because I am not on your side? There is a world of difference. Yes I hate Bush a lot. Why would that mean I wouldn’t want the war to go well and the troops to come out okay? I think you ascribe demonic motives to liberals unreasonably. Most people aren’t plotting against Bush trying to undermine the war effort. I know some of the things seem that way, but trying to bring the troops home is meant to be a good thing (even if it isn’t). It isn’t a plot to let the insurgents take over, which is of course what would happen, and why I want the troops to stay. There was a big lead article in yesterday’s lead NY Times online edition of the horrible things that would happen if we pulled out.

While at JB yesterday I was in awe of the sea of US Flags I saw.
There must be FIFTEEN THOUSAND graves at JB at least-and EVERY one had a flag next to it.

The local Boy Scouts spent a day(or two) putting those flags out.
    FIFTEEN. THOUSAND.

There is hope for the next generation.

    Psychochick sez:

Boy, the adrenaline is going now

must be those new antibiotics kickin’ in eh?…

You pretty much caught what I implied in that post. I wasn’t calling you anti-American, I was saying join us as an American…not as a Republican or as a democrat or as any hyphenated-American, but as an American….period. We must be united if we are to win this World War (and it is a world war).

I believe that there is a simplistic, very naive world view held by some on the left. Based on their assumption that troubles with dangerous countries like Iran and North Korea and others can be resolved through good intentions. Appeasement didn’t work on Hannibal, Napoleon, Attila, Saladin, Hitler, Mao, Stalin, and it won’t work on the likes of Ahmadinejad or the other islamofascists. They all see it as weakness and undesirable in their world vision, and hence, fodder for their ethnic cleansing. You people on the left MUST recognize that, you are in danger too.

I’ve taken up wayyyy too much bandwidth on this site the last couple of days, but let me tell you one more story. I have this nasty tendency to get in the faces of anti-war demonstrators and argue with them. I don’t get physical, but I ask them very pertinent questions about the war. Around 2003, there was an anti-war protest in downtown Bellevue. There was this one demonstrator who was holding a sign that said “How many innocents must die”, I stepped up to him him and said “about 3000″. He stared blankly at me and I said as sarcastically as I could “You ARE talking about the innocents killed in the 9/11 attacks aren’t you?”

He had no answer, he just stared at me like I was talking a foreign tongue.

Yes, you can call this a war for oil and you would be right. Middle East oil revenue finances the terrorists, whoever can control that commodity controls the purse strings and if WE do….then we starve the jihadis to death. I don’t find that to be such an immoral aim do you? If I were the Prez, the first things I would have done on 9/12 would have been this:
1…Destroy every Iranian oil port, and torpedo their tankers at the entrances to those ports. Gas prices be damned
    2…Occupy the Saudi oil fields
3…Bomb Al-Jazeera and every other pro jihadi broadcast outlet to dust.
4…Freeze every Muslim financial asset in this country until they are investigated…I mean every bank account, stock portfolio, loan,…everything.
5…Begin targeted assassinations on influential wahabbist mullahs and terrorist leaders worldwide.
6…Jerk the broadcast licenses of ANY network or station that even thinks of playing ANYTHING from a known terrorist group. Are you listening cnn?

Is that too harsh? I think it would be much MUCH more effective than fighting this thing with one hand tied behind our back like we are currently doing. Your democrat icon FDR was much more punitive and tyrannical in his conduct of the Great War, he took away many more civil liberties than the Patriot Act has ever done…but I don’t hear him getting any heat for that.

It’s just that I find the level of hypocrisy kind of detrimental to the cause my friend, that’s all.

    Jaybear
Thanks for your substantive post. I didn’t think you were saying I was un-American, but wasn’t quite sure. I thought it was stupid and evil to start the war, but now that we are there, why do you think I wouldn’t support it’s going well?

I think negotiation is very important, but needs to be backed up by force. “Gee let’s all get along” isn’t going to go very far. It’s not just the left that want it. There are high level military people that think we should be negotiating with Iran and Syria.

1…Destroy every Iranian oil port, and torpedo their tankers at the entrances to those ports. Gas prices be damned
–would that stop weapons shipments into Iraq or make them flow more aggressively?

    2…Occupy the Saudi oil fields–yes

3…Bomb Al-Jazeera and every other pro jihadi broadcast outlet to dust
–would be terrible propaganda for our side. They did carry interviews with that US military guy

4…Freeze every Muslim financial asset in this country until they are investigated…I mean every bank account, stock portfolio, loan,…everything.
–This is just fascist. I am sure there is heavy surveillance on the Muslim community. Freeze the money of the people supporting terrorism. Fucking over honest American citizens would be un-American, in my humble (and probably sole) opinion. Especially since they have assimilated so well, a lot of them being professionals. The potential problems are the youth, and they wouldn’t have stock portfolios.

5…Begin targeted assassinations on influential wahabbist mullahs and terrorist leaders worldwide.
    –great idea–probably in progress

6…Jerk the broadcast licenses of ANY network or station that even thinks of playing ANYTHING from a known terrorist group. Are you listening cnn?
—unreasonable. I would like to have the option to hear terrorist broadcasts to hear what they are saying (to analyze, not to agree). The more information the better (except that I don’t want to see any one beheaded) (obviously not classified, unless it’s evil stuff released by a whistleblower).

Well, hopefully it’s still an exchange of ideas.

God–I’ve been posting for hours. I should have been reading the various Times and reading up on my work papers. The LA Times is incredibly substantive, but takes me hours to read. By the way, they keep having positive things about the war on the front page.

Wow, I was just working on a house at the golf course on Thu and Fri there and counted myself lucky to be on a ferry out that evening. I always get creeped out by the number of, well, let’s call them hippies, in the islands. There’s just something not right about them. In the head. I’m pretty sure it’s not just from all the THC clogging their brains, either. I go out to any of the islands, but especially Orcas or Lopez, and I start hearing a psychedelic version of dueling banjos(music from Deliverance) playing through my head. I’ll tell you what really burns me, though. They built Habitat for Humanity houses on Orcas! I saw it myself. I asked my brother why someone would do something so inconcevable and backwards and he told me that with the skyrocketing prices of real estate on the islands from the influx of Californians and Microsoft people, the poor hippie homesteaders who had lived there for generations were unable to find places to live so HFH built affordable housing for them so they could continue their art-and-crafts-dopesmoking-paying-rent-with-poem-freelove lifestyles that they established so long ago.

I love WA so much I can’t leave.

I hate the government of this state so bad I can’t stand living here.

Hanging the pieces of crap who did this isn’t close to justice. I say douse them all with quicklime and let them get their jollies snuggled in a mass grave.

There was a big lead article in yesterday’s lead NY Times online edition of the horrible things that would happen if we pulled out.

psychochick - First of all, from some of your posts about the protesters in your area, you obviously don’t live in one of the true Moonbat havens, because many things that have been reported here about real scary-type protesters have been pulled directly from reports in the MSM.

That said, yes, you mentioned the above story yesterday, and it was pointed out then that it was too little too late to make up for the negative coverage the MSM in general, and the NYT in particular, has been running for the past 3-4 years, but I didn’t see any indication that you noticed that response to your post.

Also in a previous thread, you posited that we should know when our soldiers have been killed when they are off fighting for us. In broad, I agree with that statement, but it lacks context. Since I don’t think that a direct explanation from me will convince you, I’m going to resort to analogy, and one which has been done before, but I haven’t seen for a while:

You’re listening to a basketball game. The announcer is giving his commentary, but he never mentions the actual score, so you’re sort-of keeping track in your head as you listen. You hear the announcer say every couple of minutes that the Home team has scored, and once in a while the announcer says that a visiting player has committed a foul. Once in a while, he says that the visitors have scored a big play, but that’s about all you hear of them.

Now, since this is a basketball game, it wouldn’t make sense to discuss what would happen if the visitors left the court, so that’s a serious limitation to the analogy, but let’s suspend disbelief for a minute and assume that the announcer mentions that something bad will happen if the visitors leave before the game is over. There’s your NYT article about the bad things that would happen if we left Iraq now.

Let’s also suppose that there is an underground radio operator saying that the Home team is playing dirty, that they are committing more fouls than the Visitors, but the MSM announcer is not reporting them, and that the Visiting team is actually winning, but their goals are not being reported. Also, the MSM announcer is telling people not to listen to the underground radio guy, he’s just shilling for the Visitors.

So, what do we have from the announcer? Lots of goals announced for the home team (the Insurgents/Terrorists), a few for the Visitors (the Coalition forces), no fouls announced for the Home team, and lots for the Visitors. Aren’t you going to think that the Home team is winning, because it’s the Major Media Announcer commentating? Or are you going to believe the Underground Radio guy?

Here, we mostly believe the Underground Radio guy, because we have independent verification of his information, albeit from sources that the MSM is telling us to ignore, like the players (soldiers) themselves. Since we choose to believe that the Soldiers actually have no reason to make up things, and we can see by ANOTHER Underground Radio source (Al-Jazeera) that the fouls by the Home team are actually occurring and are far more horrible than the ones by the Visitors, we believe the Visitors (Soldiers), and the ones who are telling us that the situation in Iraq, while not great, is better than we are being led to believe by the MSM.

    psychochick:

I thought it was stupid and evil to start the war, but now that we are there, why do you think I wouldn’t support it’s going well?

I actually don’t disagree with your statement that starting the war was stupid and evil. I just happen to believe (and the facts back me up) that Saddam Hussein started this war, way back when he invaded Kuwait. Since the end of that campaign he constantly violated UN resolutions and failed to account for his weapons of mass destruction. Note: The U.S. and the coalition NEVER needed to confirm that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, it was up to him to prove he didn’t.

As for why I might believe you wouldn’t support the war going well:

Yes I hate Bush a lot.

Why? What has he done to generate hate? Belong to a different political party than you do?

I disagree a lot with Bush but I don’t hate him. I don’t even hate John “I was for the war before I was against the war” Kerry and John “Silky Pony” “Breck Girl” Edwards. I don’t hate Hillary “I was named for a guy who didn’t get famous until after I was born” Clinton. What I hate are the actions they take that put our fighting forces, and even us here in the heartland, in danger by their blind ambition.

There are Democrats I believe are honorable people although today there are far fewer than in year’s past. Especially since the nutroots pushed out Joe Lieberman.

I don’t know of any place I’d rather be on earth than Ocean Shores. I prefer a room on the second floor at Linde’s Landing, facing the Gray Gull. I don’t have the cash for a stay, though. Have fun!

Okay, here is a worthy punishment for these fucks: catch the said fucks. Take them to an area where there are a lot of tree stumps… Strip the fucks nekkid… Smear them with something that will attract all sorts of critters… Sit them down on the stumps… Nail their nads to the stumps. Leave. That is all.

Also, an addendum about anarchists… The assmonkeys who vandalize and act the fool are not true anarchists. A true anarchist recognizes the other individuals’ rights to life and property. He does not impose on them. These assholes may pose as anarchists but they are nothing but thugs, whom a true anarchist would shoot on sight. They are psychotic leftists, nothing more.
