We’re constantly forced to listen to endless Jeremiads about how Jorge Arbusto and his RINO open borders brigades “only want what’s best for the poor oppressed undocumented Americans doing the jobs that no Americans will do” and how it’s all about sweet, holy, righteous justice (and, of course, has nothing to do with their corporate sponsors insisting on a steady supply of cheap slave labor).

Well, one of Mickey Kaus’ readers (no, he doesn’t know how to make permalinks, bless his silly little heart) got in touch with his compassionate self and offered up an amendment to the Zhamnesty Bill that, under RINO Arbusto’s criteria, would be bound to sweeten the pot a great deal:

Why not add an amendment allowing those poor oppressed souls forced for so long to work in the shadows for ridiculous slave wages to sue their employers for back pay as soon as they get their Z-visas?

Back pay including overtime, unpaid benefits etc. and, considering the criminally unconscionable nature of such practices, with three times the total amount added on as punitive damages. Oh, and considering the ridiculously, excuse me, compassionately low standards applied when it comes to Z-visa applicants having to “prove” their presence in this country prior to January, all such claims made by “undocumented Americans” finally leaving the oppressive shadows will be considered unimpeachable if they are corroborated by the sworn statement of one non-relative.

“You say that your buddy Felipe here has been working 80-hour weeks for this company since 1991 at $2/hour, Gonzales? Good enough for us. Let’s just whip out the calculator and add it all up, shall we?”

What’s that sound I hear? The sound of millions of RINO corporate donors suddenly choking on their Filet Mignons, perhaps?

Hey, they earned that money! You racist, neo-Nazi, bigoted, unpatriotic ASSHOLES!

How does that shoe feel on the other foot now?

That amendment sounds like a real deal breaker for the RINOS’. It could kill the whole f’ng abortion right there. Count me in!

Hhhhmmmm, I wonder how that one would fly? Nope, they won’t touch it. The lawyers would be drooling over the prospect of all the money they’ll be getting. We can’t have that now can we?

But the Lawyers already support the Shamnesty bill, so it’s not like they’ll offset the loss of RINOs.

Seems fair. Balanced. Diabolically appropriate even, Sire. :-)

    Except for ONE teensy detail:

If things went south, lawsuitwise, sure as God made little green apples those employers would simply pass the backpay/litigation cost on - to us!

Certainly. Thing is, they’d have to take the financial hit first, which is why such an amendment would see the corporate support for it vanish like donuts at a Rosie O’Donnell birthday party.

Not to mention that the fat white men on the WSJ editorial board would rethink their “racist opponents to Amnesty” line so quickly it’d be funny to watch their heads spin.

It’s funny, in a tragi-comic way, that His Rottieness and so many others see so clearly the motivation behind the Kennedy/Shrub open -sphincters- borders -plots- deals—certain industrial interests’ mindless hunger for cheap, easily manipulated labor and gummint vote buying. The moonbat, kumbaya, sanctuary crowd is, as they always have been, nothing more than shills, useful idiots for more powerful interests, just like they were in the 1860’s. And while there will be no grand gestures of defiance, no mass charges, earthworks erected, or armories seized in opposition to this latest gross misuse of federal power, the long, balkanizing, simmering civil war we’re headed for could be worse than the devastation of that Civil War. Even if there are no major violent conflicts between illegals, separatists, gangs, citizens, and competing governmental entities, foreign and domestic, national and local (there already have been and will be more small flare-ups) the effect on the economic and cultural life of the U.S. promises to be nearly as devastating—maybe worse, depending on how you look at it and how secure you can make where you live and work. We have watched for over 140 years as slaves, liberated without training for freedom, were turned into a politically privileged, yet culturally crippled segment of society, disproportionately and multi-generationally impoverished, under-employed, under-educated, unmotivated and dependent. Why? To secure votes bought with gummint money and dirt cheap exploitable labor for industrial interests. If you think humane opposition to slavery had the whip, then how do you explain gummint indifference and industrialist exploitation of essentially slave Chinese labor and the worse-than-slavery conditions of American Indians, industrial and farm workers before, during and after Ole Honest Abe’s terms. Don’t bother, you can’t except by faith in holy yankee doctrine—not convincing to any objective mind.

Anyway, it’s not about moaning over history, so much as learning from it. So how’d that really work out for them and us? Not so well. The labor pool they got was ill prepared and culturally opposed to the industrial work they were liberated for. With no structure of compulsion, they degenerated into a perennially unemployed and unemployable underclass. The politicians, however, are like junkies—they’ve got a jones for gummint housing voter breeding facilities. Now, even modern Repugnicans are falling prey to it, looking for their own special interest group to coddle, support, breed, and bus to the polls. Meanwhile, industry gets more and more disloyal, disaffected, and finally dependent and terminated workers, gummint will get more dependents on the dole, and you and I, citizens stupid and hopeful enough to have jobs, own property, and pay taxes get to pay for it all and must “suck it up” when the scum liberated, legalized, and bred by the gummint prey upon us. I must go to the range. I must, I must, I must go to the range—but I think I’ll write my congress critters, the Prez and Veep first. That oughta sharpen the edge a little.
