Washington - Public school districts may not use race as the deciding factor in assigning students to schools.

While the race of a student can be one of many characteristics taken into consideration to achieve diversity in the student body, it may not become the predominant criterion that determines which students are admitted to the most popular schools in a district.

In a major 5-to-4 decision announced Thursday, the US Supreme Court struck down race-based public school enrollment plans in Seattle and Louisville, Ky., that were designed to maintain racially integrated student populations. The majority justices said the plans were unconstitutional because they relied too heavily on race in violation of the mandate that all Americans be treated equally regardless of skin color or ethnicity.

“What do the racial classifications at issue here do, if not accord differential treatment on the basis of race?” asks Chief Justice John Roberts in his majority opinion.

The usual plantation massas in the DemCong and their wholly owned subsidiaries are, of course, outraged.

[Update: outrage, wailing and gnashing of teeth along with an army of straw men: Democrats bash court diversity ruling-Sorry Boss, too good not to cap the post with-JB ]

As to ourself, we find it highly encouraging to note that a majority on the Supreme Court finally realize that racism is racism, regardless of the color of the race being given preferential treatment.

And before you give Jorge too much credit for this, we would remind you that he was the first one to clap his fins together like a circus seal when the University of Michigan ruling endorsing racism as wholly appropriate as long as it’s the right race getting the benefits of it came down three years ago.

We’d also like to remind you that the only reason that we have Samuel Alito on the Supreme Court instead of one of Jorge’s incompetent secretary buddies is that we smacked him upside the head with a Clue-by-Four and forced him to do so. He had to be dragged, kicking and screaming all the way.

In the majority decision, one of the justices wrote something to the effect of:

The way to stop discriminating based on race is to stop discriminating based on race.

I bet libtard heads exploded all over the mainland. Watch out for toxic waste near universities and vegan restaraunts.

I really don’t know. This sounds more racist to me than setting up schools with a lot of racial diversity. I mean, it seems like saying, “Leave the black kids in the black schools where they belong.”

I see no racial bias if you are really trying to keep an equal diverse student body.

I appreciate your helping me spread the word about the Jayson Blair Times. Today I blistered their ugly kid sister, the Washington Post. Their article today was a disgrace, crediting Blair for being loyal to Bush, but criticizing Bush. It made no sense.

And if I remember correctly, the Commander in Chimp was screaming that we were all sexist bigots. Now we’re all racist bigots. Progress. It’s wonderful.

Bush said today that congress needed to learn how to grapple with the hard issues. The only hard issue I’ve ever seen Jorge grapple with is having Rove’s skull rammed so far up his ass that when King Carl speaks, Bush’s lips move.

I see your intention, Cannon Fodder, and I don’t have a problem with that, but the moment you start forcibly tinkering with the makeup of schools by artificially lowering or raising admissions based on skin color, it’s as racist as segregation.

There is no difference between forcing blacks and whites to go to separate schools and forcing them to go to the same school. The operative word here is “force.”

Is it force wielded by government thugs with good intentions? I’m sure it is, or at the very least that they think it is, but that’s irrelevant. Governments and individuals have done truly horrid things throughout history with the “best of intentions.”

What it boils down to for me is that the government should mind their own bloody business and quit meddling. We’re citizens, not ignorant children needing a paddling and being told when and where to shit, sleep and eat.

Rottweiler, what can I say…you rock. I enjoyed the Voinovich post and the diversity post. I have nothing to add. You clearly get it.

Thanks, Eric, and do call me Misha. You’re family now, after all. Also, in response to a question you raised on another thread that I got to too late: Yes, you’re on the blogroll (Dept. of Information). It’s my honor to have you there, and I want to thank you for adding me to yours as well.

Good start. Now get busy repealing the so called hate crimes laws. I saw on Fox news this afternoon that they were going to charge a woman with a hate crime for using racial slurs as she verbally assaulted an Iranian store owner. I think she may have punched him a few times too. The sub human vermin who murdered the kids a few months ago are NOT being charged with a hate crime however.

Now if we can get rid of that immoral (and ineffective…unless you want more minorities to fail) Affirmative Racism, thought crime legislation, and everything else that privileges whichever victimhoodaholic group is trendy and politically correct that day, we would actually be making steps toward the elimination of bigotry in America.

But, that’s not what the race card players want. It would end their careers.

I come from New Jersey so I have absolutely no idea what it’s like to grow up in a racially homogenous block. NJ, depite it’s small size or maybe because of it, is one of the most diverse states in the Union. However, we didn’t become so rainbow-like due to government intervention, people just settled around each-other and became accustomed to one-another. I went to a high school that had everything you can think of: Indian, Pakistani, Arab, Mexican, Peruvian, Dominican, Puerto-Rican, Korean, Chinese, the list goes on forever. Now, we never had problems with one another, much of it probably had to do with us all living within the same town and having similar expieriences growing up. The only problems, which were minor by the way, came from the fuckers who really believed in all the race divisions in America that the left pushes. These people were paranoid and hostile to people of another race, especially (you guessed it) whites. I want to give the left the benefit of the doubt and say that they may just be too blind and naive to understand the horrible problems when they engage in this “two Americas” tripe. They’re pessimism becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and leads to students feeling uncomfortable around people of a different race. Rather than trying to “promote diversity” these agencies should work on improving inner-city schools. Of course, then they may lose voters.

I still want to know how they determine race in the first place. I mean really, does the principal have some of those paint color samples from Home depot hanging on his keychain?

“I’m sorry Timmy, but you’re just not black enough to go to the nice school. Maybe if you sit out in the sun for a few hours…”

When I have kids, I’m going to take them to the beach all summer, that way they get treated just as good as the illegal immigrants kids. If that doesn’t work, theres always spraypaint.

Well now that you mention it, most races in a biological sense (which is really all that actually fucking matters right) don’t exist. Hispanic, Arab (or ME), and Indo-Pakistani, for example, are not actual races. The former is a term that can be applied to peoples of myriad races that all share a common Cultural link which, sadly for those who try to be really proud of their “Aztec” or “Mayan” heritage, is profoundly Spanish and thus European. The other two are in the same race as (get ready for this one because it will completely throw out the lefty argument of rascism in reference to talking about Islammism) White Europeans. Race in an actual sense is determined by blood chemistry (which shockingly has been found to be different between the 3 major races), bone structure, facial features, and some others.

Amazingly skin color has little to nothing to do with belonging to a particular race. We would know more about race differences today if it weren’t for the “flower children” taking over Anthropology back in the 60’s and proclaiming all further research into the biological nature of race as “RASCISTS!!!” Since then Anthropology has turned from being a sub-discipline of biology and a rather hard science into a soft science like sociology. This is especially tragic in terms of the field of medicine.

We had a lovely incident like that in Rochester several years ago - a white girl wound up in the Urban-Suburban program (puts inner-city kids in suburban schools). Apparently that only applies to people with the right skin color. They took care of the “accident” (removed the girl from the program), and told her parents to pound sand.

I was kinda surprised at the time that nobody bothered to sue (though I suppose City Hall can get away with beating on folks without the cash to take them to court), because it was some of the most blatant racism I’ve ever seen.

Every time I see an article about “school integration” I am reminded of my fourth grade teacher.

The area of town I grew up in was predominantly white, with asians (mostly of Chinese extraction), hispanics, blacks, etc. scattered through it. We had kids from our neighborhoods bussed to the north east side (largely black), and vice versa. All this in the interests of “racial integration”. My 4th grade teacher had moved a couple of blocks away from the elmentary school so that her kids could walk to school as they were growing up, (the junior high in our area was about eight blocks away from the elementary school I attended), but, due to the policies implemented for “integrated schools”, her kids were bussed to the north east side for all of their years in school.

Despite working for the school district, she and her husband were unable to keep their children from being bussed from a “white neighborhood” to a “black neighborhood school”.

You already know where this is going.

    Mrs. Foust was black.
