No, not for me, but our friend LC Yochanon and his mom, who are in the process of being run off their land by a corporation that, I assume, have “better” plans for their family homestead. They’ve been beating the bastards off for 2 years to the best of their abilities, but obviously that’s no problem for a corporation. They’re not about to run out of funds, which is why they almost always win. Not because they’re right, but because their opponents go bankrupt just trying to defend themselves.

At any rate, before I get incoherent with rage, LC Yochanon, his mom and I would appreciate it a lot if any of you have any ideas/contacts/brilliant strategies, so have at it in the comments. If separate communications need to be set up, we can always do it through me.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi gang,

Hopefully sometime today (Friday), my mom will have the details wrote up and I’ll post it on my website.

All I can give is my most sincere thanks to any and all who can somehow help us, and to Lord Misha for what he’s done here, helping get the word out.

Here’s my site and, if any of you want to keep checking (in case I forget to put here that the details are up):

Once more, thank you to one and all.

This just reminds me of a news show i was watching a long time back where corporations were doing the same thing in certain cities. When property owners refused to sell they would threaten imminent domain. Telling them they would get the property anyway.

The thing is that the local or state government was actually taking their property claiming that and then passing it to the corporation. So in the end the owners lost out, big time.

Now, I thought imminent domain was when the government wanted or needed the land for s highway or military base. You know, something that had to do with the government. I never realized the government, state, local, or even federal, could take your shit from you just so some corporation could build another shopping mall or supercenter.

I don’t understand why someone should have to defend their property from any corporation just because they want it. If they are making the payments on time or they own it outright, I don’t see needing to do anything other than say “NO!”

This is entirely bullshit. But, as it goes, I don’t know the facts at this moment.

The Eminent Domain laws have been abused for some time - starting not long after local officials realized that you can get a whole lot more tax money [for your screwy leftwing schemes] from a shopping mall than you can from someone living out their twilight years on land that has been in their familiy for generations. This abuse is something that Thomas Sowell has been writing about for a while now.

It is funny how Capitalism is just dandy when it fills the “progressive’s” coffers.

Have you tried soliciting law firms in your area? Most larger firms do pro bono work.

Ill go ahead and tell you tho that people are going to want to know ALOT more details before taking the case. Unless your likely to win or its real good publicity for the lawyer or firm, its going to be hard to find a pro bono lawyer.

The work may be free, but that dosent mean that the lawyer dosent get anything out of it (better stats, good publicity).

Hell…for that matter a dirty media campaign is just as likely to get them to fuck off as a good lawyer. Go to your local news and give them your story. Exaggerate. Tell them how its bankrupted you. Talk about the stress on your mom’s heart. Turn them into the corporate evil that is destroying america.

    Lycurgus,

This has nothing to do with capitalism. Its socialism at its highest. The individual is being ignored and having what is his taken away and given to another for the common good. If it were capitalism then the person would have sold the land when the company offered them money.

Nope thats socialism. Add people with guns telling you move or die and its communism.

Yes, Yochanon, I’m here in Tennessee, and need to know where, and what Corporation, at least. If you’re in Middle Tennessee, there’s more of a chance to get help; East TN, maybe; West Tennessee, forgeddaboutit. When you start getting too close to Memphis, things progressively deteriorate…

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… The A-Team.

    That sucks.

This is OT. BC or Lady Heather has my email addy.

A friend of mine is missing for over three weeks now. He is my boyfriend’s lawyer. We had another lawyer friend check the docket and he hasn’t filed anything with the court dockets in the last month. I’m getting very impatient with my friend who has taken charge as filing a missing person report.

The guy is originally from Michigan but hasn’t been in contact with his family for a couple of years and we are his “family”. It is strange to some that we haven’t heard a peep from him. He has had some issues with an ex girlfriend and it is suspected that some of the thugs she knows (real low rent group) may have something to do with this.

I need advice on filing a missing person report in Florida (Miami) and how to go about it. We are getting quite frantic. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated.

But seriously, this is not an eminent domain issue. It’s a predatory lending issue.

Try the Center for Responsible Lending for a list of resources.

Also, file a complaint with the state attorney general, and look into filing a complaint with the appropriate licensing board for the mortage broker.

    Yochanon:

    1) Monday morning you must contact the attorney general’s office. If you can’t get a human to listen to you, get in your car and head for the State Capitol

    2) Contact the Better Business Bureau. See what they can do for you.

    3) Go to your local TV station and give them your story. Public humiliation may make them back off(I’ve done it in the past, and it works!)

    4) Write your story up and send it to your local paper and address it to the Editor.

Start with those actions and see what happens.

    Good luck!!!

Personally after finding that they were lending me WAAAAAAAAAAY more than I was asking for, I would have never sent the pages I signed back with the rep.

She said at the end of that page that her house wouldn’t even go for $55,000, then what is the house worth? Seems to me that Ameriquest loaned her way more than the house is worth.

After the loan was done anyway and she received the $135,000 check, she should have found a way to return it and get cancellation papers for the whole thing before giving that check back.

This looks like an open and shut case in her favor to me. I guess the biggest question is, did the rep that came to her house also sign the cancellation of the loan paper? Because if she has the original with her signature, it should be evident that she is not responsible for any of this.

The think that sucks is that, in the end, she is probably going to lose everything.

I say if you have that cancellation paper and it has Darlene Dunning’s signature on it, toss that to the judge next time you are in court!

These predatory lenders are such evil bastards. There is a class action lawsuite against Ameriquest right now. Hopefully, things will get worked out, and there would be no need to join in it. The best scenario would be for someone to help her escape their clutches. Also, could she repay most of the money immediately, so her payments wouldn’t be so bad?
