But, but, but… no blood for oil!

Ya know, this whole charade would be really fun to watch if the media was anything close to impartial, instead of the DNC whores that they are. If it wasn’t for the new media, they’d get away with it too. Which, by the way, is why they are going to push a new Fairness Doctrine, and McCain-Feingold, on both talk radio and the blogosphere.

I’ve never seen something so close to George Orwell’s 1984 in real life. Not only is the party right, the party has never been wrong, irregardless of the past. It’s scary that within the span of a few years, outlook the the major Dems have so completely reversed, and few seem to realize it.

You’re coming along nicely darling. We’ve toughened up yer hide a bit and even got ya snappin back here and there. You’re conversion is almost complete my young padawan.

Seriously though, I told ya the Rott would be good for ya, didn’t I?

As to the video, a nicely done example of the Dhimmies political expediency at work. I can not fathom what it must be like to live a life with no convictions that can not be thrown away when they become inconvenient, where you can lie as easily as breathe, where your sole goal is to further your own political self interest and quest for power with no consideration to the long term harm your actions may do to others. How can these people look at themselves in the mirror? Have they no conscience?

Never mind, that was a stupid question. I must have forgotten who we were discussing.

Ads like this are the reason for these fascist laws. By trying to shut everyone up for the last weeks of an election, they can make any outlandish claim without fear of being challenged, even using their own recorded statements is considered slander. And I blame both parties for allowing this.

I have been able to enjoy RFK Jr. over the last week keep showing up for interviews and deny calling people traitors five seconds after they play the clip of him doing just that (It’s about 3:20 in if you don’t want to listen to the whole thing). I guess it’s OK for him to question someones patriotism.

Weren’t most these quotes recorded while the President and his entire administration was lying to the whole world about Iraq’s WMD program?

I’m trying to remember the President that enforced the “no fly” zone for years and strangled Iraq’s WMD potential… That would be Bill Clinton, wouldn’t it? Foiled only by that Fuck-wit Anon and his equally corrupt clan via the UN’s so called “Oil for Food” program.

I’m trying to remember the only President that ordered a submarine launched cruise missile strike against Taliban terrorist training camps in Afghanistan long before 9/11, specifically intended to take out one Osama Bin Laden… Why, that would be William Jefferson Clinton again, now wouldn’t it?

What was the reaction of the rabid right? “Wag the dog! Wag the dog! You’re trying to distract us from our vendetta, uh - I mean Independent Counsel investigation!”

Actually, it was set up under Bush Sr. and enforced by our military. Iraq’s WMD potential was never documented because saddam insane threw out the UN inspectors twice during clintons administration!!

Weren’t most these quotes recorded while the President and his entire administration was lying to the whole world about Iraq’s WMD program?

1998? Only if he has a time machine.

The rest only makes sense if by “lying” you mean “reading aloud the same global intelligence consensus that the DemCong based their votes on, a consensus built on data collected during the clinton administration.”

So did the no-fly zones set up during the Bush 41 administration “strangle” the WMD potential of Iraq or was it “foiled?” I’m confused here. Besides, if it was “strangled”, then why did every intelligence expert on the planet (and every DemCong over here) agree that it wasn’t? Didn’t they get the memo?

I’m trying to remember the only President that ordered a submarine launched cruise missile strike against Taliban terrorist training camps in Afghanistan long before 9/11, specifically intended to take out one Osama Bin Laden… Why, that would be William Jefferson Clinton again, now wouldn’t it?

It set back the tent stockpile of the Taliban by weeks too, a strategic effect only surpassed by the massive headache epidemics in the Sudan that followed his brilliant, surgical eradication of the Sudanese aspirin industry.

If only he’d applied the same kind of tenacity to radical Islamists that he applied to, say, Serbia, a country best known for never having attacked the United States or her interests.

Just so you understand something - I am now, and have always been, a card carrying Republican voter. I do not worship at the House of Clinton. All I want you to do is sit back and think about these things for a minute. There is more than enough blame to go around. I’m thinking that perhaps leaving Lebanon after the Marine barracks bombing wasn’t the best possible move. Personally, I’d have liked to have seen a couple of Divisions landed in their place. Unlike most of the mindless invective I’m sure my previous post will stir on this forum, I’d like to base my opinions on facts. Whether they support my position or not.

Emperor Misha posted a story of a fervent anti-gun activist that studied a research paper showing that personal gun use in self-defense actually does deter crime. This activist came out, in writing, and said that the study was accurate, well thought out, and that he supported its conclusions.

If they can do it, why can’t we?

Bashing a Clinton action just because it was Clinton makes no sense. Everyone loves to point out that the missiles destroyed tents. But honestly, don’t you think that was a matter of timing not intent?

In particular, the Emperor’s rollicking literary contributions can be called many things - but “mindless” certainly isn’t one of them.

Thanks. Just laying it on a bit thick there. No harm, no foul. It’s not like I’m the epitome of diplomacy myself.

The only thing I had a real problem with was the old canard about “lying about the evidence.”

There is absolutely no evidence that Bush, as much as I loathe the spineless backstabber, was acting on anything other than what was available to everybody else.

Again: There was a general consensus among every intelligence agency on the planet that Saddam was a real threat when it comes to WMDs. Bush didn’t “make anything up” and, frankly, suggesting that he did so means that you have to believe that he had access to exculpatory evidence that he deliberately suppressed. I suppose that’s possible, but unless you want to be seen as wearing a tinfoil hat, something more than assertions are needed.

Was our intelligence wrong? I’m not convinced that it was (again, no evidence to the contrary), but it is a possibility. Intelligence often is, and I know that from personal experience. But you have to act on what you know, not on what you think you might know in the future.

And, above all: You DON’T take a position on what you know at a given time, then pretend that you never did later on when it turns out that it might not be politically expedient.

It’s OK to be wrong, it’s OK to change your mind based on new evidence, but it’s NOT OK to pretend that you never said what you said and make up shit to excuse it when called on it.

Very surly, Jaybear, but I consider these people my friends…speaking of such thigns, a friend sent me the following……I did send it on to a few select people……..I do not know who wrote it.

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

    1. Liberals
    2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery.

    That’s how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live
off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q’s and doing
the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant.

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.
Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn’t fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today’s lesson in world history: It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it. A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to piss them off.

OK, Caveman, Jaybear, I’ll play along, but who invented this rule about bolding names? Did I miss the memo while I was asleep or something?

Oh, and only vaguely on topic, but this kinda of crap proves (again, as if it was necessary) that Heinlein was at least partially right. (I just finally got around to reading Starship Troopers, good book indeed!) The only kind of political system that can survive long-term is one is which the politicians deliberately and knowingly put the good of their society ahead of their own. Whether these people choose to do this because of “noblise oblige” or learn it through “federal service” or whatever, nothing short of that really will work long term. For that matter even that might not work, but it’s got a lot better chance than anything else we’ve tried.

And it also shows that obviously some idiots weren’t giving their kids appropriate corporal punishment quite some time ago. Some of these retards are older than my folks, you have to wonder if their parents were just soft headed or too soft hearted. Regardless of what else you believe in, unless you want to prove yourself a fool you literally CANNOT deny the Bible was 100% right on this one point: “He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” (Prov 13:24) And speaking of Starship Troopers I really got a kick out of the idea of publically flogging the negligent parent along with the misbehaving kiddo. Great idea! Pity it won’t happen, too many one-brain-celled morons are aghast at just the idea of spanking in the first place.

Well, this is interesting. All these people in the video, and we have a self-professed, “card carrying Republican,” extolling the virtues of Clinton?

I seem to recall that not that long after the invasion produced not nearly the quantity of WMD that were expected, Clinton was defending Bush, saying that, and I’m paraphrasing here, “Based on what we knew, Bush did the right thing, although he (Clinton) would have tried to give the inspectors more time.”

Another year or two down the road, and all of a sudden little BJ was recanting what he had originally said…when it became politically expedient to do so.

Don’t talk to me about Clinton doing anything to benefit anybody but Clinton.

And don’t give me the, “Bush lied because he wanted to invade Iraq anyway,” crap, either. It’s old, and tired, and still has NO BASIS in fact.

I think I will also go out and buy a gun and SHOOT the next person who says, “Saddam was a bad guy, but…”

All of you Clintonites can take your hindsight and shove it.

    Crash-n’-burn:

Weren’t most these quotes recorded while the President and his entire administration was lying to the whole world about Iraq’s WMD program?

Wouldn’t that be the very same “lie” that virtually every intel agency in the known universe agreed with? Also- how do you explain away Prez Clinton propagating that lie? You can’t- but I do note your inability to reason.

Yeah- enforced it to the point that Saddam felt safe enough to take pot shots at Allied aircraft. I also see it was Clinton that allowed “oil-for-food” to become the moneymaker for the Annan crime family it was. Oh- and, by the way, wasn’t that Clinton’s wife saying that Saddam had become too much of a bad boy?

I’m trying to remember the only President that ordered a submarine launched cruise missile strike against Taliban terrorist training camps in Afghanistan long before 9/11, specifically intended to take out one Osama Bin Laden… Why, that would be William Jefferson Clinton again, now wouldn’t it?

Would that be the same William Jefferson Clinton who was offered bin Laden by the Sudanese government, and refused to take him? Perhaps the same William Jefferson Clinton who decided on a ‘law and order’ approach after WTC1? I do think the Islamists noted how that worked out for us.

What was the reaction of the rabid right? “Wag the dog! Wag the dog! You’re trying to distract us from our vendetta, uh - I mean Independent Counsel investigation!”

Uhhhh, yeah, I think you mean the same investigation that ultimately impeached and disbarred him because he was proven a liar under oath. Not a good thing for a sitting President. Then again, maybe your moral compass doesn’t point true north, either.

If you can only view history through an ideological prism, your chances of understanding what’s really going on are vanishingly small.

Wow- an admission that you understand nothing at all. Why am I less than impressed?

Thanx jaybear. A point of etiquette I was unaware of.

Be that as it may. I’ve discussed this issue (any many others) with people of many political stripes. The common denominator (left, right or center) is that the towel-heads have long ago declared war on us.

I don’t know about you, but I have become extremely tired of hearing about our own war dead. I’d would like to hear about enemy war dead - preferably requiring a comma.
