Proving once again that the World’s Largest Krime Kartel and Keystone Kops™, have never found a murderous dictator they didn’t love, along comes yet another longing for return to the “Good Old Days of Sodamned Insane’s Camelot”.

UN: Iraqi children worse off

The situation for Iraqi children is getting worse and, in some respects, was better before the war began, a senior U.N. official said Monday.

The endless supply of free kites and access to prancing purple unicorns (along with shredders) is a thing of the past.

“Children today are much worse off than they were a year ago, and they certainly are worse off than they were three years ago,” said Dan Toole, director of emergency programs for the United Nations Children’s Fund. He said Iraqis no longer have safe access to a government-funded food basket, established under Saddam Hussein to deal with international sanctions.

That would be the food-baskets including TNT and nerve gas for the Kurdish Kids, thoughtfully provided by Sodom and other treats from Krispy and Extra Krispy, Quday and Usay right?

Toole said conditions for women and children in Iraq had worsened significantly since the February 2006 bombing of a Shiite shrine in Samarra, north of Baghdad, which triggered a wave of sectarian violence and displacement that continues today.

A generalized statement “conditions”, attributed to the elimination of a rat’s nest of splodeyating hajis. If I may make an analogy, if McDonald’s on West Main Street here in town closes, women and children’s ‘conditions’ will suffer. Nevermind, there are at least 10 more fast-food establishments within walking distance. What conditions are you blathering about, you beauracraptic enema nozzle?

He added that gains made shortly after the U.S. toppled Saddam’s government in 2003, when people were able to move around the country freely and had access to food markets and health centers, had been lost.

Well I can’t argue that point, many people were able to move about the country freely under Saddam’s regime, directly to mass graves and torture rooms, no sirree they had LOTS of access moving freely there and at government expense.

“Nutritional indicators, health access indicators are all changing for the worse,” Toole said. He said recently published data showing improvement refers to the situation a couple of years ago and is outdated.

Hold the presses….The UN’s Tool (in the vernacular) spews bad news, yet admits recently published data is outdated. Ipso Facto, we’ll just have to take your word for it in spite of you know, actual data.

The system of government-sponsored handouts — set up by Saddam’s government to meet the basic needs of Iraqi citizens from 1991 to 2003, when the country was under U.N. sanctions — started to fall apart last year, Toole said.

That’s just beyond comprehension, a government program established by a non-existent government fell apart?

Apart from shortages of items such as milk and baby milk formula, “the basic Iraqi food basket was fairly secure under the regime because there was food coming in and the government provided the food basket to its citizens,” he said.

Well by Lenin’s Maggot Infested Sphincter™, the obvious solution is to turn it all over to the socialist swine of the UN, perhaps appoint Castro Wannabe, Hugo Chavez as el Presidente for Life. Everyone knows that only a properly run socialist government can ensure baby milk in every pot. Maybe even Hugo’s Cock Holster, Danny Glover can head-up (and down) the new Milk Distribution Department.

Toole could not say whether malnutrition has worsened significantly but he said UNICEF was concerned by reports it has received from refugees fleeing the country.
Emph Mine-JB

For cryin’ out loud, when will journaljizmers learn not to stuff both feet and head simultaneously into their rectums? Some of us actually read the whole article. The rational mind might think the umpteenth-level of editors would delete contradictory statements, but you would be wrong.

Toole said that, because of the violence, mothers were too afraid to send their children to school or take them to health centers to get checkups and nutritional supplements.

Directly from AQ-Iraq’s latest news release or did you filch a line from Al-Jazeera?

While efforts are being made to maintain levels of immunization, particularly against measles and polio, UNICEF is worried about the possibility of a cholera epidemic because two-thirds of Iraqis lack clean water. A couple of cases of cholera have been reported in the south of Iraq but so far there has been no major outbreak, Toole said.

And what country, well coalition, is rebuilding the infrastructure that either a) never existed or b) was neglected by Saddam, to deliver clean water? And by the way, the US averages about 10 cases of cholera per year, mostly from foreign travel, so what IS your point with a ‘couple’ cases? Care to provide the numbers of cases in say 1992? More or Less? Hmmmmm….?

He said the agency has so far received no government donations toward a $41.5 million appeal for its Iraq work through the second half of 2007.

Und so, ve get to the punch-line. Perhaps we’ve decided that we can get things under control with less fleecing of the taxpayers by doing the job ourselves, and not pay for 24/7 Lobster and Prawn Buffets for the UN Administrators.

AssWipes….

Ah, the same children everyone cared so much about under Saddam’s reign? Where’s the pic of the dead kid that was gassed by Hussein? Leftists. They only care about innocent lives lost when the US is involved. Before the US went to Iraq, they couldn’t give two shits about them - just like they prove they and the rest of the world’s superpowers don’t give a shit about Sudanian kids. Iraqi children starving under sanctions

Nearly one million children in Iraq are suffering from chronic malnutrition, according to a report by the United Nations Children’s Fund.

The Unicef report said children are bearing the brunt of economic hardship in Iraq. The number of malnourished children represents an increase of 72% since international sanctions were imposed on Baghdad.

The Unicef representative in Baghdad, Philippe Heffinck, said: “What we are seeing is a dramatic deterioration in the nutritional well-being of Iraqi children since 1991.”

“It is clear that children are bearing the brunt of the current economic hardship. They must be protected from the impact of the sanctions. Otherwise, they will continue to suffer, and that we cannot accept.”

The Unicef survey came out shortly before the Security Council considers improvements to the programme, which allows Iraq to sell limited amounts of oil to buy food and medicine. The aid-for-trade agreement is aimed at alleviating the impact of UN trade sanctions.

TV crews asked to film suffering

The Iraqi cabinet are holding an emergency meeting to discuss the impact of sanctions on children.

Iraqi authorities invited foreign television crews into a hospital to film women grieving over children who they say died as a result of the sanctions. (“Unbiased” sources.—B.)

Unicef reports that 32% of children under the age of five — a total of 960,000 — are undernourished. The problem is far greater than in neighbouring Jordan or Turkey.

The study is based on an Iraqi government survey (There’s that “unbiased” source again.—B.) last year of 6,375 households in the country and two follow-up surveys this year.

“What concerns us now is that there is no sign of any improvement since Security Council Resolution 986 came into force,” said Mr Heffinck, referring to the document that set up the oil-for-food plan which came into effect a year ago. (Could it be that all of those BILLIONS that were supposed to be going to The Chilllllren™ were actually going into Sod’em Insane’s, Jacques’, Vlad’s & Kofi’s pockets? Naaaaaaaaaaah. Couldn’t be.—B.)

UN to increase oil sold for food

Even before the current crisis with Iraq, UN officials were advocating an increase in the amount of oil Iraq could sell to buy humanitarian goods, with some wanting to double the figures to $4 billion every six months.

The UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, is to present a report by the end of November reflecting this view. But he may not suggest a specific figure, leaving it up to the Security Council, which has to make a decision early in December.

The United States has been the chief advocate of the oil-for-food programme, which gives the UN control over goods arriving in Iraq.

That last sentence was written BEFORE we learned the true, astronomical scale of the corruption in The Great Blood For Oil Scam™ being perpetrated by the biggest band of murdering asshats since Pol Pot’s reign of terror.

Where’s your “But… The Sanctions Were Working!” mantra now, LefTards?

No, let’s hold off on the eggs and fruit for the moment. Instead, let’s strap some headphones around Mister (I’m a Socialist) Toole’s head and crank up the latest Megadeth album full blast:

“…Poverty in their kitchens, held hostage by oil-for-food
Yet their own plates are full off the fats of their lands
There’s no blood on their hands, right Kojo?
They promised to tell the truth without leaving a fingerprint
They will lose the UN one way or another
The victim, I fear, will be us, sisters and brothers.

The UN is right: you can’t be any more “un”
Than you are right now, the UN is undone
Another mushroom cloud, another smoking gun
The threat is real, the Locust King has come
Don’t tell me the truth; I don’t like what they’ve done
It’s payback time at the United AbomiNations…”

Jaybear, I always thought Dave Mustaine, Megadeth’s frontman, was actually a liberal. If so, then judging from the title track and some of the other songs on Megadeth’s United Abominations CD, Mustaine may be about to convert to the dark side.

Here’s a sample from another track on United Abominations, “Washington is Next:”

“…Disengage their minds, sabotage their health
Promote sex, and war, and violence in the kindergartens
Blame the parents and teachers, it’s all their fault
    “Annuit Coeptis”
Attack the church dynamic, attack the family
Keep the public undisciplined till nothing is sacred and
The “have-nots” get hooked and have to go to the “haves”
    Just to cop a fix.

It’s hard to find a better summation of the objectives and consequences of liberal policies than that. Which is probably why, last week, The American Spectator gave Mustaine’s latest - and Mustaine himself - a positive review. (Which, BTW, is where I heard about it.)

Also, the introduction to United Abominations (the CD) was allegedly writen by Jack Bauer. So Mustaine gets extra style points for that right there… ;)

And we all know how the UN field workers like to take care of the children. I’m sure this sack of shit is just pissed about all the US troops around who aren’t willing to be complicit for the usual UN child prostitution, rape and misuse of power they’ve shown as their SOP.

If you were receiving hundreds of angry emails from your minions demanding children to keep as sex slaves, you’d be trying to spin something to get the US troops out too, as he knows his folks can only keep their britches zipped so long, even with heavily armed and decent, honourable witnesses about.

Misha, the UN is claiming that things were better for the children under Saddam; that’s just a smokescreen. What they’re really upset about is the fact that the world has its collective eyes on Iraq right now, meaning that it’s damned hard for the UN peacekeepers to go about their everyday business. After all, it’s not like the children are going to rape themselves.

Perhaps you feel it’s not neccessary to fight, having survived your own deadly encounters without fighting back,,but doing nothing/talking to despots simply doesn’t work in the real world of the GWT.

What would we have left if we don’t fight?
Who’s gonna drag your dead carcass off?
Oh yeah, if your strategy bone isn’t completely atrophied, you’d understand why the enemy just LOVES your attitude.
That attitude gave Al Q’erry the big boost in the taliban polls.

I guess next they’ll be talking about Afghanistan, where, before our allied invasion, on average, about 20-25% of ALL children DIED before age 5, and the Taliban just said “If the child died, it is allah’s will.” Yeah, the food shortages, etc. during saddam’s reign, as well as the rampant terror, torture, etc. were fiction? Fuckin’ UN’ers will say ANYTHING to get attention! Those worthless pisspants, jello-spined, asswipes are some of the greatest wasted of flesh and oxygen in human history!

As I recall, Normandy was sort of a “debacle”, too. As were a number of Pacific island invasions. Calling it quits when the going gets tough is a “progressive” value, not an American one.

[Sorry for the lapse in time to respond — the commute is a killer…]

I wasn’t talking about the invasion or even the operation itself, BC. I was talking about the Billions of dollars given to private contractors, doing jobs that could have gone to Iraqis or had traditionally been done by our own military.

There are billions of dollars in cash that have literally ‘disappeared’ in Iraq.

(Oh, I know, this is a Guardian story, so it can’t be right — something akin to sticking your fingers in your ear and going “la-la-la, can’t hear you…”)

But yes, Iraq is a debacle of vast proportions. We told you it was going to be such, and yet you still cling to the idea that things are going well.

We are fighting Al Qaeda over there so we don’t have to fight them here. JoeMentum is insisting that we go into Iran because Al Qaeda is coming from Iran.

    Horseshit.

Al Qaeda is Sunni. Iran is Shia. They hate each other. Our “good friends” the Saudis are Sunni, and a good 45 percent of the insugency going into Iraq is from Saudi Arabia.

Saudis’ role in Iraq insurgency outlined

Although Bush administration officials have frequently lashed out at Syria and Iran, accusing it of helping insurgents and militias here, the largest number of foreign fighters and suicide bombers in Iraq come from a third neighbor, Saudi Arabia, according to a senior U.S. military officer and Iraqi lawmakers.

About 45% of all foreign militants targeting U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians and security forces are from Saudi Arabia; 15% are from Syria and Lebanon; and 10% are from North Africa, according to official U.S. military figures made available to The Times by the senior officer. Nearly half of the 135 foreigners in U.S. detention facilities in Iraq are Saudis, he said.

Fighters from Saudi Arabia are thought to have carried out more suicide bombings than those of any other nationality, said the senior U.S. officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the subject’s sensitivity. It is apparently the first time a U.S. official has given such a breakdown on the role played by Saudi nationals in Iraq’s Sunni Arab insurgency.

He said 50% of all Saudi fighters in Iraq come here as suicide bombers. In the last six months, such bombings have killed or injured 4,000 Iraqis.

The situation has left the U.S. military in the awkward position of battling an enemy whose top source of foreign fighters is a key ally that at best has not been able to prevent its citizens from undertaking bloody attacks in Iraq, and at worst shares complicity in sending extremists to commit attacks against U.S. forces, Iraqi civilians and the Shiite-led government in Baghdad.

The problem casts a spotlight on the tangled web of alliances and enmities that underlie the political relations between Muslim nations and the U.S.

I notice we aren’t threatening to go into Saudi Arabia. Instead, we threaten Iran, whose “insugency not only barely registers as a blip on the radar, but also has a non-agression and cooperation treaty with the Iraqi government we are backing.

The only reason we are in Iraq is for the oil redistribution. That is the only “benchmark” this administration is waiting for — the redistribution of Iraqi oil to the big oil companies. The Iraqi government is stalling on it, and for good reason. We are building the world’s largest “embassy” over there complete with permanent military bases to enforce the eventual redistribution contracts. THAT is the plan.

Meanwhile, we are providing a training ground for terrorist activities. Al Qaeda is now battle trained, and we continue to provide further training.

Iraq is a failure. Afghanistan is a failure. Hell, everything President Chuckles has touched has been a failure of colosal proportions.

Yet you still cling to the sinking ship…

The Saudis, as despicable as they are, are at least complicit with us in the war on terrorism. They have had their share of attacks from sunni and shia groups alike. Don’t forget, who is running al-qaeda? he’s a saudi as well right? and he has launched a number of raids on the saudi sheiks. I would like to see the number of islamonazi terrorists captured and killed by saudi forces compared to the number captured and killed by the iranians. Something tells me the number for the latter would be somewhere between nil and zero….but that’s just a rough guess.

Wake up. You don’t really buy the “spreading democracy” excuse any more, do you?

Take your pick over just today’s stories on the oil law “benchmark”. For the Bush administration, this is the most important benchmark, and it is the only one that the Iraqis are against.

What the US-demanded benchmark does is literally gives the major oil companies the oil that belongs to Iraq, and allows the oil companies to decide how much they want to trickle back in cash to Iraq.

THIS has been the goal all along, and people like you refuse to see it. Instead, you swallow the fear pills the administration has been feeding you, and try to equate Iraq with the outrage of 9/11.

If you were so outraged, then why did you allow us to take our eyes off the real target — the people that perpetrated the attacks on 9/11. The tiny handful of fucknozzles that have been used to paint one billion people as evil.

Nineteen Saudis, led by a tall Saudi with family ties to George Bush attacked us on 9/11. We made a big show of running over to Afghanistan, dinked around there for a short period of time, then made a massive effort to attack and occupy Iraq — for the oil.

We let Osama been forgotten to escape into Pakistan, where our good buddy (and dictator) Musharif allows Al Qaeda to hide. Afghanistan is run by war lords and the Taliban has returned.

So yes, it has been “blood for oil” all along. You just refuse to see it.

So all we gotta do is kill bin laden and the game is over, right?

Adm. Yamamoto was the chief strategic architect and overall commander of the task force that bombed Pearl Harbor, he was akin to bin laden in his responsibilities. We found him in 1943, shot him out of the sky, and still had to fight all of the rest of the Japanese armies and navies that were out there. Same goes for bin laden Dave, we find him and kill him and we still have a whole shitload of islamonazis to wade through….it won’t end with the death of bin laden.

If it’s all about oil, why are we bothering to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, when it would be a relatively simpler matter to take over the oil fields, pipelines, and terminal stations and guard and operate them ourselves, and drop the price of crude for us below $74 a barrel?

    1) I’d rather fight the terrorists in Baghdad than Bethesda; Falluja, instead of Falls Church.

Fight them there instead of here? We wouldn’t be fighting them at all if we weren’t creating them.

    Who are we fighting?

Mostly Iraqis fighting for their own country, followed by an insurgency made up of mostly Saudi nationals and a few Syrians and North Africans. Then there are the criminals followed a tiny few we’ve cleverly referred to as “Al Qaeda in Iraq”.

The point is, they weren’t there before WE invaded Iraq. The majority of people in Iraq do not get along with the Sunnis (the ones causing most of the problems over there)

We are occupying a country currently in a civil war. Even your hero Ronald Reagan had the sense to realize that the last place we need to be is stuck in the middle of someone else’s civil war.

We could have taken all of the money we’ve spent so far and used it to beef up our own security here at home. And we’d still have money left over for your precious tax breaks.

Better we have it than the terrorist pay masters who use oil revenue to finance these beasts DJ. If it’s about oil for that reason…I’m all in.

It isn’t ours, Jay, and it is one of the major beefs people like Bin Laden has against us. They don’t want us stealing their resources, just as we wouldn’t want someone else stealing ours.

There is no way groups like Al Qaeda can defeat us militarily, so they resort to guerilla war tactics because it is very difficult to defeat. We used the same tactics against the British in 1776, and in modern times the Vietnamese used it against us.

Let’s not even mention the increasing radicalization of Imams in prisons and the military. Then we WILL have to worry about homegrown Muslim Terrorism.

It’s not for oil, or I wouldn’t be paying 3.19 a gallon. This would have been a tactic to make us more willing to accept the war, because it would have been profitable to the “right now progressives”. DJ, if all it was just about the oil, don’t you think it just a tad moronic that it’s your side of the aisle telling me that we cannot drill off the central California coast, ANWR, et al? I know as well as you that Audi of yours, advanced as it is, doesn’t run on pixie dust. If you really believe that blood for oil bullshit, then you have a question to weigh- do we remain in a perpetual fight with casualties so your house can remain heated during the winter, or do we renew exploration for oil within our boundaries? At what point does the left realize that no amount of temper tantrum is going to satisfactorily
answer that? Put it another way- if you guys really did care about the troops in your own twisted way, hows about coming up with a solution that really does reduce our dependence. You know- like, say, nuclear, or coal gasification. Solar works on an individual basis, but it isn’t very practical for firing up large swaths of LA. Expensive as hell, to boot. Wind power? Remember that set of turbines they were going to have off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard- that was, until some Prominent People bitched and moaned. There is already a large windmill farm here in SoCal. Let me tell ya guy- it ain’t enough. You go right ahead and tell yourself that it’s that stupid, evil bastard Bush and his ‘Rasputin’, either Cheney or Rove, depending on what day it is, that is in cahoots with his oil buddies, doing his facist best to keep gas prices high here, and looking towards a future of massive profit off the backs of the Iraqi people.

END THE RACIST PERSECUTION OF MICHAEL VICK!!!!!!!!

    RICHMOND, Va. (AP)

Vick and three associates must appear in Richmond next week for bond hearings and arraignments on charges contained in a detailed, 18-page indictment handed up Tuesday.

The four are accused of competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting, and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

The operation was named “Bad Newz Kennels,” according to the indictment, and the dogs were housed, trained and fought at a property owned by Vick in Surry County, Va.

Conviction carries up to six years in prison, fines of $350,000 and restitution.

Among the grisly findings: Losing dogs either died in the pit or were electrocuted, drowned, hanged or shot. The indictment said purses climbed as high as $20,000 for fights.

I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but, asking that black football players in Virginia be allowed to “electrocute, drown, hang or shoot” dogs may not be as overreaching as it may appear.

Shit, in Los Angeles, they are allowed to slit the throat of their ex-wives et al and get a free lifetime golf membership to boot.
