When the troops were finally (and kudos to NBC for having the balls to air a viewpoint contrary to the teachings of the Traitor Left) allowed to express their frustration with the tireless efforts of the objectively pro-terrorist Left Column to stab them in the back just like they did during Viet Nam, we fully expected the nutjobs in the media to throw a hissy and, right one cue, we have this in The Washington Compost:

I’ve been mulling over an NBC Nightly News report from Iraq last Friday in which a number of soldiers expressed frustration with opposition to war in the United States.

Mulling? More like crying in your latte, screaming with frustration that somebody disagreeing with the Cindy Sheehan bloc of un-American politics were allowed to speak.

I’m sure the soldiers were expressing a majority opinion common amongst the ranks - that’s why it is news - and I’m also sure no one in the military leadership or the administration put the soldiers up to expressing their views, nor steered NBC reporter Richard Engel to the story.

No you’re not, which is why you make such a great deal out of saying so. Just admit it, you worthless sack of shit: You’re convinced that they were forced at gunpoint (or by mind control rays) to say something that flies square in the face of your accepted Leftist Gospel.

I’m all for everyone expressing their opinion, even those who wear the uniform of the United States Army. But…

To anybody not familiar with the classical rhetorical trick of the Seditious Left when they want to say something that even they know will get their arses justifiably kicked: The “but” at the end automatically disqualifies anything that goes before it, which means that he’s REALLY saying “I’m utterly against those drooling morons in the military being allowed to speak in public.”

Look at what follows after the “but”:

…I also hope that military commanders took the soldiers aside after the story and explained to them why it wasn’t for them to disapprove of the American people.

He’s all in favor of them having an opinion and expressing it, BUT he also hopes that they were disciplined by their superiors afterwards and told in no uncertain terms that they had no right to express their opinions.

That’s how the totalitarian left works. You’re allowed to have an opinion, as long as it is one they share. If you don’t, you should be disciplined, “re-educated” or just locked away.

That’s how the Loony Left “respects” the First Amendment.

That’s why we have a Second Amendment. To keep swine like that from ever shredding the Bill of Rights.

Friday’s NBC Nightly News included a story from my colleague and friend Richard Engel, who was embedded with an active duty Army infantry battalion from Fort Lewis, Washington.

Engel relayed how “troops here say they are increasingly frustrated by American criticism of the war. Many take it personally, believing it is also criticism of what they’ve been fighting for.”

Which is exactly how the MSM presents it, in an obvious attempt to do al-Qaeda’s bidding by undermining morale and tricking the country into, once again, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

How the fuck do you expect them to feel, you clusterfucked cue ball, when all they ever hear in the news is bad news, and every single accomplishment of theirs is studiously, deliberately, with malice aforethought ignored? How the fuck do you expect them to feel when every single minute of coverage from the MSM differs from al-Jazeera only in not being in Arabic? How do you expect them to feel when the MSM will report, breathlessly at great length about a bunch of freezing moonbats gathering to display their papier mache puppets while completely ignoring the voices of millions of Americans who support our fighting men and women in everything they do?

You must be really proud of yourself, Abu Musab al-Arkin. No wonder the fake tapes from Osama are fewer and further between. They don’t NEED to disseminate their own propaganda with all of you useless civilian collaborators doing all of the heavy lifting for them.

First up was 21 year old junior enlisted man Tyler Johnson, whom Engel said was frustrated about war skepticism and thinks that critics “should come over and see what it’s like firsthand before criticizing.”

Sounds like the “chickenhawk meme” in reverse? You guys love throwing it around in gay abandon at civilians and veterans alike, so why are you so upset about it now?

That was a rhetorical question, Lord Haw-Haw. Look it the fuck up.

“You may support or say we support the troops, but, so you’re not supporting what they do, what they’re here sweating for, what we bleed for, what we die for. It just don’t make sense to me,” Johnson said.

It doesn’t make sense to ANY people with their intellectual faculties in working order, private, so don’t feel bad about it. I, on the other hand, feel extremely bad about the fact that you have to listen to those worthless wastes of skin pissing all over you all of the time.

Next up was Staff Sergeant Manuel Sahagun, who is on his second tour in Iraq. He complained that “one thing I don’t like is when people back home say they support the troops, but they don’t support the war. If they’re going to support us, support us all the way.”

Damn straight. You guys didn’t choose the war, you’re just fighting it. If those knuckleheaded pissants truly supported you (which they don’t, unless you shoot your officers, by their own admission), they’d realize that simple fact. Simple to a life form with an IQ above the freezing point of water, that is, which automatically disqualifies the backstabbing, lying, hypocritical assnuggets of the left.

Next was Specialist Peter Manna: “If they don’t think we’re doing a good job, everything that we’ve done here is all in vain,” he said.

Another thing that ought to be obvious to anybody with a brain, and which IS obvious to those of us with one that still functions correctly.

But traitors like Arkin doesn’t want you guys to say it out loud, for the simple reason that it makes too much sense. Which is how the truth usually works.

These soldiers should be grateful that the American public, which by all polls overwhelmingly disapproves of the Iraq war and the President’s handling of it, do still offer their support to them, and their respect.

By what polls? I’ve seen polls disapproving of the President’s handling of the war. I happen to be one of those people who, if asked, would answer that the President is a limpwristed, half-arsed, Jello-spined, micro-managing buffoon when it comes to actually handling the war, a fuckhead safely dug in in DC tying our troops’ hands behind their backs for fear that the NYT or CAIR might disapprove, but that doesn’t mean that I disapprove of the WAR.

I highly approve of it and, even if that wasn’t the case, I’m still man enough to live in the real world and realize that, once you start a job, you’d damn well better finish it. Even if I DID disapprove of the war, which I DON’T, I’d still say that we had to finish the job and crush the enemy, and I fully support every action of our outstanding Armed Forces that brings us closer to that end.

Because if we DON’T finish it, then SPC Manna is exactly right: Everything they’ve done, every drop of blood of ours that has been spilled over there, will have been for absolutely nothing.

And I’ll be triple fucking DOG damned if I’ll sit idly by while the likes of Arkin, semi-sentient subhumans not worthy of licking the ass-raisins out of the crack of our lowliest serviceman or -woman, pulling that one off.

AGAIN.

Through every Abu Ghraib and Haditha,

I wasn’t aware that we’d had more than one of those two, but apparently grammar is as insignificant to the Meticulously Fact Checking Umpty-Leven Layers of Editors at The Washington Compost as actual facts are.

…through every rape and murder, the American public has indulged those in uniform, accepting that the incidents were the product of bad apples or even of some administration or command order.

You have? That would explain why those two incidents, incidents that aren’t even significant to anybody who has ever studied armed conflict in any fashion, have received more coverage than the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has received over the last 2,000 years. And we haven’t noticed much “indulgence” in your coverage either, not to mention the hyperbolic, insane condemnations from your bosses in the DNC.

Sure it is the junior enlisted men who go to jail, but even at anti-war protests, the focus is firmly on the White House and the policy.

“We support the troops. When they shoot their officers.”

Pull the other one, you lying, seditious, purulent abscess in the crotch of humanity.

We just don’t see very man “baby killer” epithets being thrown around these days, no one in uniform is being spit upon.

Why don’t you go ask CPL Joshua Sparling about that? Not only was he spat upon, some of your fellow travelers on the Left Column even went as far as to send him a postcard at Walter Reed, telling him that they wished he’d die.

So, we pay the soldiers a decent wage,

Depends on what you call “decent.” Apparently it isn’t much at all if you’re a soldier, risking your life in foreign lands to protect swine like you, but the sky’s the limit if you’re an illegal immigrant or a fuckhead who never once bothered to make something with his life.

G-d, how I hate those lying socialist swine.

take care of their families, provide them with housing and medical care and vast social support systems and ship obscene amenities into the war zone for them,

“Obscene amenities?”

I’d like to know just what amenity would be considered “obscene” for somebody facing death on a daily basis to protect your Constitutional right to sit in a bar in Washington pissing on them while telling them to shut up and forget about that First Amendment right that you obviously don’t think they, the ones who pay in blood to protect it, are entitled to.

What exactly have YOU done for your country, you obscene waste of protein?

we support them in every possible way,

Except for any ways that can actually be called “support”, that is.

and their attitude is that we should in addition roll over and play dead, defer to the military and the generals and let them fight their war, and give up our rights and responsibilities to speak up because they are above society?

What rights have you given up? Just what specific rights have you even had inconvenienced behind your desk or while rolling around in the hay with your whores, safely away from those who would kill you if it weren’t for our soldiers killing them THERE?

And I’ll make a point of remembering your disdain for the military profession and your opposition to letting experts do their jobs. If you, G-d willing, finally manage to fuck your body up enough that you need surgery, I’ll remind you of how you have no right to defer to the surgeons to fix your ailment. Let a drunken journaljizztic hack perform your bypass.

I can imagine some post-9/11 moment, when the American people say enough already with the wars against terrorism and those in the national security establishment feel these same frustrations.

I can imagine some post-9/11 moment, when the American people say enough already with fifth columnists endangering us all with their activities behind the lines and decide to deal with it. I actually WELCOME that day. Because I know that I’ll have a lot of fun introducing you to the horrors that the troops that you’re pissing on are protecting you from right now.

In my little parable, those in leadership positions shake their heads that the people don’t get it, that they don’t understand that the threat from terrorism, while difficult to defeat, demands commitment and sacrifice and is very real because it is so shadowy, that the very survival of the United States is at stake. Those Hoover’s and Nixon’s will use these kids in uniform as their soldiers. If I weren’t the United States, I’d say the story end with a military coup where those in the know, and those with fire in their bellies, save the nation from the people.

We may have to. I always hoped and expected that it would never be necessary, that even the dimmest bulbs among us would recognize that defeating murderous religious fanatics who have already demonstrated their willingness to slaughter us wholesale might be a Necessary Thing™, but the more I read the drivel of the likes of you, the more my faith in mankind’s inherent common sense fades and withers.

But it is the United States and instead this NBC report is just an ugly reminder of the price we pay for a mercenary - oops sorry, volunteer - force that thinks it is doing the dirty work.

Been reading the Daily Kock, have you?

If you insist on calling them “mercenaries”, why don’t you remind yourself who has all the money?

Oops, huh?

You worthless swine. Why couldn’t it be something like YOU that got burned, mangled and hung up from a bridge in Fallujah? Nobody would have missed you and, what’s more, I wouldn’t have felt in the least bit bad about somebody saying “screw ‘em” about YOU.

But you support the troops, right?

You support them while calling them “mercenaries”, complaining about the “obscene” amenities that they’re offered in return for protecting your utterly worthless ass, and suggesting that they should just shut up and die like they’re supposed to, because THEIR opinion, unlike YOURS, is unworthy of mention.

Rope. Tree. Journalist.
Some Assembly Required.

Are you even beginning to see why you backstabbing bastards are so hated? That seems to be something you assholes seem endlessly fascinated with.

Follow-up question: Just who, exactly, do you think will protect your carcass when the rest of us have finally had enough of nurturing a viper at the bosom of our nation?

Scared yet? You should be.

The notion of dirty work is that, like laundry, it is something that has to be done but no one else wants to do it. But Iraq is not dirty work: it is not some necessary endeavor; the people just don’t believe that anymore.

For somebody with nothing but obvious disdain for the opinions of those of We, the People fighting overseas, you seem awfully eager to speak for The People, don’t you?

Oh what a nasty, brutish awakening YOU’RE in for.

I’ll accept that the soldiers, in order to soldier on, have to believe that they are manning the parapet, and that’s where their frustrations come in.

How very gracious of you, even if you DO go out of your way to imply that they really don’t know what they’re talking about, unlike nuanced intellectuals like yourself who constantly has to face the terror of paying your monthly phone bill.

I’ll accept as well that they are young and naïve and are frustrated with their own lack of progress and the never changing situation in Iraq.

“Those poor dumb, deluded chimpanzees ’stuck in Iraq’”, huh?

Condescension noted.

And we’re not about to forget it either, you assnozzle.

Cut off from society and constantly told that everyone supports them, no wonder the debate back home confuses them.

Tell me: Am I the only one with a sudden, terrific urge to look up this condescending, elitist snob and beat some good old fashioned sense into his brittle bones?

“Those poor, dumb, uneducated hicks out there in uniform. No wonder they don’t understand the real nature of the world like I do.”

America needs to ponder what it is we really owe those in uniform. I don’t believe America needs a draft though I imagine we’d be having a different discussion if we had one.

I know what we owe them.

We owe them to shut up the likes of you. The swine who obviously have no appreciation of their sacrifices, the moronic puddles of pigs’ piss who have nothing but derision and hatred for those who protect your right to be obnoxious, simian suckweasels, the hordes of self-absorbed, egotistical maniacs who will not, under any circumstances, tolerate the speech of those who disagree with them.

The socialist shits who would rather prostitute their nine-year-old daughters than ever utter the words “thank you.”

The only, ONLY thing that keeps us from doing so is that we, unlike YOU, believe in the right of swine to parade their swinishness in public.

But with every fallen American soldier, airman, sailor or Marine pissed on by the likes of you, that resolve fades a little bit more.

You better hope and pray that it doesn’t disappear entirely.

***UPDATE:*** The worthless hack responds to criticism with this drivel under the headline of:

The Arrogant and Intolerant Speak Out

Either the little assmonkey is referring to himself, or he has just become the official dictionary entry for “POT. KETTLE. BLACK.”

The rest of his response is too inane to even bother Fisking.

I have a couple of questions for Mr. Arkin and his bosses at WaPo:

    1) Exactly what sort of “non-mercenary” military force would your delicate philosopher-king sensibilities ever permit us to have, and what would you ever allow us to do with it ?

    2) If a pack of Iranian-backed Shia thugs wanted to impose Sharia on The District rather than Baghdad, would you support the troops then ? Or turn to Mecca like the spineless, unprincipled, nothing’s ever worth fighting for cowards that you are ?

Don’t bother responding. We already know the answers.

Mr. Arkin is a coward. He loathes military men because they will fight and die for a cause, while he will never willingly risk his vainglorious ass for anything. The Left’s elaborate ideology simply provides him an excuse for being less than a Man. What we call “rank cowardice” and “an utter lack of principles”, they call “flexibility”, “a willingness to engage in a dialogue with your enemies”, “nuance”, and “sophistication”

I loathe the idea that we’re all stuck in the same foxhole with this man. Liberal arts emasculates like Arkin couldn’t sell out fast enough if the jihadi shit hit the fan in America. Let’s keep the fight in their yard.

I ‘mulled over’ the thought of wasting words on this spineless hack. I surmise from his ‘column’—no, not any of those, the fifth one over there that serves no obvious purpose—that if the mullahs had their way tomorrow, and those near and dear to him were consumed by the path of the flame and sword that the religion of pus holds for all western cvilization, that his response would only be to denounce America and Americans even louder because we brought it on ourselves. No, no denouncements or condecension for him. He is beyond conversion to reason and logic, and completely in the grip of the liberal tendency to ‘know” something because that is what he feels…truth and evidence to the contrary be damned. Words wouldn’t even provide any entertainment value, and we may be coming closer to a time when no time can be spared for the likes of him. He will be treated the same way as something I might inadvertantly step in and have to wipe off my shoe before proceeding with business.

As for the WA POO on the other hand, I have to wonder what the editors think of the numerous comments indicating that America doesn’t appreciate this ingrate presuming to speak for them.

Hells bells. Per Blackfive, the little bastard Arkin was in fact an uniformed intel guy back in the ’70’s. (Per Hugh Hewitt - Army 1974-1978, though specifics on his actual rank/unit weren’t apparent) Doesn’t change my take on his lack of spine or principles, mind you - I can’t believe anyone who wrote even half of what he did would ever willingly risk his ass for anything.

Hell, Kerry served in the Navy to pad his resume and avoid more hazardous duty - then he threw a 30+ year hissy cow at the military when he actually got shot at.

I’d put Arkin in the same boat (pun intended) with Kerry - he joined for perks, bennies, or some other reason besides actually wanting to defend America than got his nose out of joint when the Army actually made him do something he didn’t like or someone called him a bad name.

So, in the interest of fairness and accuracy, rather than being a garden-variety hippy coward, he’s a cowardly, traitorous ex-military Hater with an axe to grind.

PS - I’d sleep better at night knowing the little Quisling does not still have a security clearance.

It may very well be that what we are seeing here is the result of ’sending a message’ to the Republicans in the last election. Since lefties aren’t encumbered by facts…they took the ‘06 election as vindication of their position. IOW, the ‘Truth’ was voted upon, and they won. As a result…further discussion is closed. 2+2=5 because the VOTERS SAID SO.

More outrage from the leftist media. Over at Mrs. Malkins site, is this little jewel…

Before Bryan Preston and I embedded at FOB Justice, we had to read and agree to a clear set of ground rules, including this one:

    (11) Media will not be prohibited from covering casualties provided the following conditions are adhered to:

    (a) Names, video, identifiable written/oral descriptions or identifiable photographs of wounded service members will not be released without service member’s prior written consent.

    (b) DOD will release names of KIAs. In respect of family members, names or images clearly identifying individuals “killed in action” will not be released. Names of KIAs may be released 24 hours after Next of Kin have been notified.

Apparently, the NYTimes didn’t think the rules applied to them. Yesterday, the Houston Chronicle blew the whistle on an appalling violation of those rules by Times reporters, who posted a photograph and videotape of a Texas soldier dying in Iraq–before the family had been notified:

A photograph and videotape of a Texas soldier dying in Iraq published by the New York Times have triggered anger from his relatives and Army colleagues and revived a long-standing debate about which images of war are proper to show.

He can and will. Because those aren’t murderous thugs, death squads, mercenaries, baby killers or even fools with no other option in life that paid violence. You know, the way they’ve been and are being portrayed by the Left.

They are men, warriors and almost certainly gentleman (at least in my limited experience). So he could spew his shit to their faces and stand a pretty good chance of getting home under his own steam, as they’re busy right now keeping the rest of us safe.

Not that he doesn’t deserve a good thrashing, but it seems to me our armed forces leave the illegal acts of violence to those they are tasked to root out.

The sick thing is that this guy suffers no cognitive dissonance whatsoever. To the extent that he believes there is any kind of danger about (hard enough to convince), it is the destined duty of “commoners” like the troops he reviles to protect their “betters” without complaint. And they’d best not engage in any uppity backtalk, either.

These self-appointed elite, These latter day inheritors of the lice-infested mantle of a Marie Antoinette or a Simon Legree (sic), had best realize that their lifespan becomes very short indeed when decent people are finally pushed too far.
