Whoa, Britain, Could You Slow Down a Bit?

We take it easy on the news for a couple of days and then, while browsing through the posts of our friends at the Jawa Report, we find that the Britons are in an awful hurry to surrender to the Saracens, preferably by next Wednesday afternoon, right after tea.
First we learn that a Lord Chief Justice simply can’t wait to embrace the wonders of Sharia “law”:
Muslims in Britain should be able to live according to Sharia, the country’s most senior judge has said.
Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, the Lord Chief Justice, strongly backed Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, over his suggestion earlier this year that aspects of Sharia law should be adopted in Britain.
The archbishop’s remarks sparked a national debate and led to calls for his resignation.
Risking inflaming that controversy again, Lord Phillips has said that Muslims in Britain should be able to use Sharia to decide financial and marital disputes.
Now, far be it from us to impose our “un-nuanced” ways on anybody, but we simply can’t see the attraction of stonings, pre-teen marriage and forcing women to wear burlap bags. One would think that if the muslims, their women in particular, were so enamored with being treated slightly worse than livestock, they’d have stayed right at home.
Somewhere in Heaven, King Richard is gnashing his teeth wondering why on Earth he and his compatriots ever bothered with that whole “Crusade” thing if his descendants were going to hand over the shop to the Saracens for free anyway. Seems like they could’ve just stayed at home and waited for the ululating masses to come to them instead.
But, by all means. If they’re in that much of a hurry to throw out about a millennium’s worth of culture out the window and adopt the mores of the first aggrieved mongrel showing up on their doorstep, then there’s precious little that can be done about it, at least from where we are.
And it looks like they’re already well on their way. Two students were recently disciplined for refusing to pray to allah.
Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and ‘pray to Allah’ during a religious education lesson.
Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.
They said forcing their children to take part in the exercise at Alsager High School, near Stoke-on-Trent - which included wearing Muslim headgear - was a breach of their human rights.
Silly parents. Human rights are for officially protected minorities! How dare your boys insult the most holy religion of islam by refusing to pray to allah? Next, they’ll be refusing to draw pentagrams while muttering incantations to Lucifer and, before you know it, they’ll get the silly notion that there is such a thing as “freedom of religion.” Which, of course, there is, but only if the religion in question is called “islam.” As our friend at the Jawa Report, Mike Pechar, notes, there aren’t any reports of rampaging Christians shoving Communion wafers down the throats of muslims. Presumably because that would be a crime! Not to mention that it’d result in violence, but we shouldn’t have said that. Every time that somebody suggests that islam is violent, the streets fill up with peaceful and insulted muslims threatening to behead whoever it was that suggested that.

But we digress…
Please, Britain, could you slow down your transition to Shariah a bit? There are practical issues to be considered here, after all. For one thing, we’d like to continue covering news from over there, but we only have one member of the Imperial Staff who is familiar with Arabic, and he’d probably like to at least get a couple of weeks’ notice before we dump the entire British Desk in his lap.
We understand the urgency. After all, who could possibly resist the allure of moving back to the 7th century with its colorful folklore and quaint and curious customs? Gimme that old time religion and all that rot. Still, could you hold it off until, say, mid-August? We’d be ever so appreciative if you would.

This is going to make a lot of guys at the office very angry. Most of the guys have kids in school…
Regarding the shariah courts: They are already reality in many areas here in England. Many large mosques already have them and offer their services to muslims in the area. From what I have heard its mostly for family law and finances and stuff like that and there is no official enforceability of their decisions. Only official English courts have the power to have their decisions enforced by the police.

And as to the teacher and headmaster who administered detention because two boys did not want to pray to Allah ? A flogging would be in order. 100 lashes distributed evenly between the two and shown on prime time TV, BBC 1.

This isn’t an aberration. Canada has had discussions about allowing sharia courts, and you just wait–New Fallujah will start caterwauling for it soon. They’re saying it’s just financial and family laws and only if both parties agree to settle under shiria…now, but I see the camels nose in the tent flap.
I give it about three years before the creep takes over whole sections of Britain. You have a dispute in West London, it’s the Queen’s Court for you. East London, we go by sharia here mate, oh and there is a
small feedhimi tax for the mullah to rule against you, kafir.Nothing like enacting laws without the peoples input, seems the Brits tried that about 232 years ago somewhere and look at what happened. Of course the people were armed then.
I went to BisW’s site and saw what Washington state is trying to pull up there. If I remember, mullahs are the judges, so I’m curious to see how they reconcile separation of church and state with getting legal rulings from a clergyman.
Re: the boys, all I can say is good for them to refuse to bow down to allah and good for the parents raising hell about it. I do find it amusing that everyone involved from the school is “unavailable” at the moment. :em72:

I have to admit though, that after seeing some of stuff my hounds will eat, I am leery when they go to give me a lick…but they’re so damn cute.
Now if that imam would get in contact with the fucker that filed the complaint and explain the laws of islam to him, this could all be over yesterday.
Maybe that’s why I have no muslim friends. My dogs (and my cats and my cockatiel), are all well behaved and they are part of my family. Matter of fact, since my teenager is never home, they’ve eased the empty next syndrome. :em99:

And this is exactly how bad things begin. It wasn’t so long ago that fascists used such things to “maintain purity.” If such a thing happens today, we’re going to be in a very awkward spot. Good luck to the Brits, but I hope we can stop this insanity from completely infecting us.
Unfortunately, I know it must only be a matter of time. We have less cultural identity than a lot of us realize. At this point in a self-destructing republic, things usually begin to go pear-shaped. Hopefully, we can be the first in history to self-correct from a nose-dive, but I hate to think of the other possible outcomes.

Well, I have a tendancy to believe that the average “Brit” is in may ways similar to the average American. This shit is going to snowball to the point where (what may be considered) some very bad things happen. Wether it is bad or good will be in the eye of the beholder.
Personnaly I hope to god that some group gets together and starts smoking these members of thier society that are FUCKING IT UP. ArchBishop… meet God….. Head Judge… meet god, Mullah muckety muck … say hello to whatever the fuck awaits your ass on the other side. They obviously need to start thier purge (I am reluctant to use the word) NOW. If they dont do something soon they will cease to exist.
I have always considered myself a “reasonable man” when it comes to tolerance, humanity, patriotism, etc. I do not want to be one day described as a finge element kinda person… but it appears to me that it is almost inevitable. Because I swear on all that I love and hold dear…if I start seeing this kinda shit anywhere near my community I will take action with extreme prejudice. I will do so reluctantly but also with every skill and asset I have available.

I’m still trying to figure out something my apparently logical mind cannot grasp:
If Muslims followed Sharia law in Britain, then that means they don’t have to follow Britain’s laws, since in the minds of many a Mooselimb, Sharia law trumps any law.
If Muslims commit crimes against Britain’s populace, whose law do they use? (That’s a rhetorical question; I know the answer.) Does that mean if a Muslim rapes a British woman, it’s her fault and she’s to be put to death for “tempting” him?
So much fucking madness here and I’m only scratching the surface.
Might want to do something soon, UK, or you’re doomed.
