“This Is Not The Surge That I Thought I Knew…”

…and so the Obamabots grab their paint cans, mops and Clorox and start scrubbing his campaign site of all previous criticism of the surge in Iraq (h/t Hot Air):
WASHINGTON - Barack Obama’s campaign scrubbed his presidential Web site over the weekend to remove criticism of the U.S. troop “surge” in Iraq, the Daily News has learned.
The presumed Democratic nominee replaced his Iraq issue Web page, which had described the surge as a “problem” that had barely reduced violence.
“The surge is not working,” Obama’s old plan stated, citing a lack of Iraqi political cooperation but crediting Sunni sheiks - not U.S. military muscle - for quelling violence in Anbar Province.
THEN: “The surge isn’t working, and what little progress HAS been made is entirely due to the Sunni sheiks of Anbar Province and has nothing to do with our military and their silly plan.”
The News reported Sunday that insurgent attacks have fallen to the fewest since March 2004.
“Shit. And The Anointed One has a visit to Iraq coming up. Quick, let’s do something about those ‘inartful’ words!”
Obama’s campaign posted a new Iraq plan Sunday night, which cites an “improved security situation” paid for with the blood of U.S. troops since the surge began in February 2007.
It praises G.I.s’ “hard work, improved counterinsurgency tactics and enormous sacrifice.”
NOW: “This was a triumph. I’m making a note here, HUGE SUCCESS. The surge has improved the situation thanks to the blood and enormous sacrifice of our troops.”
Campaign aide Wendy Morigi said Obama is “not softening his criticism of the surge. We regularly update the Web site to reflect changes in current events.”
“Particularly when current events expose our previous criticisms as the load of unmitigated horseshit and idiocy that they were.”
But she’s right. They’re not “softening” his criticism. They’re just making it disappear down the memory hole. Or, rather, they wish they could. They still haven’t quite gotten to terms with the fact that “the Internet is forever.”
One of these days he’ll come to regret that he raided short buses all over the country to populate his campaign staff.
P.S.: Another Blast from the Past™, January 10, 2007 on (P)MSNBC:
I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I think it will do the reverse.
As we all now know to be true, with sectarian violence at a record high and blood running knee-deep in the streets of Baghdad, Basra and Mosul.
That’s some choice “poor phrasing” and “inartful choice of words” right there, O Bambi.

This guy and his campaign are the closest thing to Orwellian Big Brother that I’ve ever seen. We have an ever-growing list of things we can’t say about him or call him, and he literally speaks out of both sides of his mouth while his true-believers nod and moan like zombies.

There’s a VERY good essay by J.R. Dunn over at American Thinker discussing the Comrade B.H. Obama’s predilection for historic revisionism (aka lying his pants off), Actually, his habit of lying is actually more in keeping with his Marxist upbringing rather than any political posturing.
Come November, Comrade Obama’s enablers in the MSM will have us thinking Obamarx was really a member of VRWC! (Of course the MSM has been lying through its collective pants for longer than Obamarx as been alive)

I thought the demos were trying to take credit for the surge, now that it’s working. My, my, what short memories they do have. And what long memories we have. Better luck next time.

Obama and the rest of his party have been whitewashing :em72:’s so long, I’m not sure they’d know HOW to be honorable about past poor choices.
It goes something like this:
1. Don’t try to bury your failures, leave them out there for public analysis.
2. Admit where you were wrong, state WHY you were wrong, and what specific harm it caused.
3. Apologize sincerely.
4. State your new plan moving forward that takes a different direction.
5. Follow through with your plan, making course-corrections as necessary.
6. Don’t REPEAT your failures.
Don’t expect to see this from the codepink-infected party any time soon.
On a more positive and upbeat note, inspired by WC Varones comment, y’all might enjoy gotwarporn.com. I particularly liked the A-10 Videos :em93:
