Er, You Know, This Is Information That Would Have Been Useful To Us…

Looks like the Russian Army rolling around the countryside of Georgia, blowing up military installations at will and generally making a nuisance of themselves even after their declared “ceasefire” might not as much be a violation of terms as a royal fuckup on the part of the fwench emissary, Sarkozy.
According to the article at the link, he brilliantly agreed to the insertion of a bit granting the Russians the right to enact nebulous “additional security measures” such as, we don’t know, blowing up ports, airfields and barracks? It doesn’t say, but it’s pretty damn obvious that the wording amounts to blank check.
And with this outstanding Munich agreement in hand, Sarkozy then picked up his umbrella and went to get the Georgians to sign off on his piece of paper, guaranteeing peace in our time. Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Who knows? Maybe it was “the best he could get” at the time, but wouldn’t it have been nice if some of the parties to the deal had been forthcoming about the actual details of it before we all went nuts about the Russians doing, essentially, what the “deal” allowed them to do?
Huh? Anybody? Bueller?
At any rate. Russian forces are now, allegedly, moving back into South Ossetia. We’ll be delaying the celebrations until we find out what else we haven’t been told.
Elsewhere, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, confirms what His Majesty has been expecting would be the outcome for quite some time:
“One can forget about any talk about Georgia’s territorial integrity because, I believe, it is impossible to persuade South Ossetia and Abkhazia to agree with the logic that they can be forced back into the Georgian state,” Mr. Lavrov said, The Associated Press reported.
No. Don’t bother talking about how the territorial integrity of nations must never be violated by using military force to help breakaway regions secede. One word: “Kosovo.” There. That particular aspect of Putin’s aggression has nothing to do with any evil genius on his part, because we wrote the playbook for him and handed him a signed copy.
It sucks, no doubt about it, but we really can’t do too much there without saying, in effect, that “we were for it BEFORE we were against it!”

I just love it when you read my mind!!!!
That’s basically what McDouche is saying, and making us look like idiots in the process… The Russians are eeeeeeeeeeeeevil, so what they’re doing is wrong, but we were righteous, and therefore us doing exactly the same thing was just fine. Besides, the Serbs are eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil too!

Russia Violating Cease Fire with Georgia…
Enough is enough, I say. Several weeks ago, when I first started posting at Drumwaster's Rants, I wrote a couple of posts about our provacative foreign policy toward Russia and that they were serious in their protests about NATO expansion and ball…
