Thanks to LC Crunchie and LC & IB Michelle Malkin, we bring you this wonderful heartwarming story of joy which is only marred by the absence of a death count:
According to police, a 17-year-old suspect was attempting to burglarize [85-year-old] Leda Smith overnight.
Which turned out to be a very bad idea on the part of the goblin.
That’s when Smith grabbed her gun and told the teen that she would shoot him if he moved, police said.
“I had the gun on him before he turned around and said, ‘you’ve had it,’ ” Smith told Channel 11-News.
“You be vewy, vewy quiet, young man, or that pretty face of yours will have holes in it that it didn’t use to have all of a sudden. And would it kill you to wipe your feet on the doormat before you enter the house?”
According to police, Smith ordered the boy to dial 911 and then gave him some advice.
Sound advice too:
“Dial 911 and don’t attempt to throw the phone at me, or do anything bad or I’ll just shoot you,” Smith said.
“…and that would make a dreadful mess which would make me very upset.”
Way to go, Ma’am. The Empire salutes you. The dumbass goblin, on the other hand, will have an interesting story to tell his fellow inmates when the inevitable “how’d you get caught?” comes up.
Of course, if the GFWs had their way, granny would be another statistic by now and the goblin would be at large, spending his ill-gotten gains freely while plotting his next heist.

My Grandma went thru this same senario in Detroit one night. She didn’t kill anyone, but my brother and I sure kicked the kid’s ass a couple days later. We also sold his ladder (that he was trying to make entry from) to a guy down the street. I saw this lady on the news last night, my heart goes out to her. She suffered more than the idiot who tried to rob her. Hope he learned a lesson….but I kinda doubt it.

I would posit that shooting at the headdress doesn’t necessarily indicate a predisposition to killing muzzies, but that the headdress simply makes it easier to ID the target. Of course, if you’re playing a game where you’re supposed to kill muzzies, that sorta moots the whole point…

A perfect way to start the day. I just love these kind of stories. Only a .22, huh? Just goes to show that any caliber is better than no caliber. She should have put a couple of slugs in his legs just to show him who’s boss and provide a little lesson in the “crime doesn’t pay” curriculum.

If my mom hadn’t had a cool head, my dad would be dead. They live in the country, miles from any police. She was in the basement one day, and heard footsteps upstairs. She called my dad’s name, and he didn’t answer. She called again, no answer. So she got the gun.
She heard the silverware drawer open (it squeaks), and she figured he was going for a knife. She called his name again…again, no answer.
As he started to come down the basement stairs, she had the gun aimed and ready. Fortunately, she waited to see who it was before she opened fire! He never heard her call his name, and he was in the basement to look for her.
HAD he been a goblin, that would have been his very last breath. She always says, if you’re gonna have a gun, tell yourself that you can kill if you need to. And she would have.

Red Five .. You are on the money regarding the headress issue. The significance isnt in the fact that the headress equals a religious motivation, but more a more readily identifiable target for the brain to process.
