It’s one thing that notorious liar Michael “Land Whale” Moore-on is caught openly thanking G-d for possibly bringing down another hurricane on New Orleans just as the RNC convention opens, that’s even sort of mild for the same ghoul whose only complaint after 9/11 was that Osama bin Laden’s henchmen had the gall to take out targets in a blue state, but apparently DNC chair Don Fowler is in on the act too.
Mind you, those are the same clowns that were beating the dead horse of Katrina into paste crying crocodile tears over Nawlins and the poor, helpless victims of the Evil BushHitlerBurtonCheney Death Machine.
In the past, some of us have been criticized for even suggesting that the soulless animals on the left would happily sacrifice as many of our soldiers as it took, as long as they could reap some political benefit from it.

Just keep that in mind if, Heaven forbid, Gustav should turn into being the disaster that some doom and gloom merchants predict that it will be.

[Update: My aplogies to the Emperor to adding some aditional information to the story. Here in La. Gov. Bobby Jindal is taking unprecedented moves to protect the state including mandatory evacuation of the Poh Peeple in NOLA and surrounding population centers. So far, the young governor is hitting preparation for this potential disaster out of park entirely. At this point the emergency plan is being followed to the letter. FEMA assistance is in place and ready. More to the point was a public statement made yesterday from Bobby: "There will be National Guard, MP and state and local police in the evacuated areas immediately following the potential disaster. If you' re thinking of looting, all I can say is we're "sorry". Fill in the dots on that tidbit. Meanwhile Chocalate Ray No-Nutsigin is strangely quiet about palming off responsibility for anything happening. There is one man in charge in these parts, and he's not an eeevil white-boy either. Go Bobby, Go !!!]

The only reason they are acting like diaper shitting toddlers is because they know that there aren’t going to be any screw ups in Louisiana like the Nagin/Blanco Circus. Jindal doesn’t seem to be taking prisoners. The National Guard is already there, 700 buses are waiting to remove peeps, the astrodome (superdome…forgot what it’s called) is LOCKED!, and he basically told them, if you don’t evacuate, too bad, so sad.

Jindal’s ready for this one, make no mistake. My state has teed up helicopter support according to local news reports (Illinois, blue state home to Nobama & Shrillery birthplace). Any misstep by Jindal will be greatly magnified by the MSM which will not be a surprise.
The convention should go on. Bush can address the party via satellite and McCain/Palin can look presidential and concerned touring the damage sites. Oh G_d, Mr. Chocolate City is on FOX pontificating. What a loser.

Just got back from Home Depot. Country Red and I got there at 7 am. to get a generator. We were sixth in line. By the time the doors opened there were well over 50 people waiting. The store staff was ready. They informed us that the trucks with the generators had not arrived yet, so the manager came out, passed out cards to all the waiting folks, and informed us that we were guaranteed a generator. By the time we paid for them, got our other supplies, the trucks had arrived. We all grabbed our carts, lined up in back and they loaded them up for us. When Red and I went out the front door with a generator, a Shop Vac, 8 cinder blocks, a 50 ft. extension cord, and a case of bottled water we were wondering how we were going to get it all into the car……when two gentlemen employees walked up behind us and started loading it all for us. I have to say this was the most pleasant trip to Home Depot we had ever made. Those folks were on the ball.

Bobby is kicking ass with the evacuation and emergency prep. Nagin can pontificate all he wants….but he knows if he sticks his head up his ass this time around, Bobby will yank his stupid self OUT and put someone in that has more brains than bluster. And for those that think he can’t do that….when a state of emergency has been declared…the Governor can do whatever he feels is necessary to maintain order.

Not so DJ. Bush may be the President of the country….but his authority stops at a states boundaries when it comes to situations such as this. Unless a Governor requests specific assistance then he can’t do anything but advise. If he had gone over the Governor’s head and took over, you guys would REALLY be screaming for his impeachment. Blanco kept putting Bush off when he repeatedly begged her to issue a mandatory evacuation. She refused National Guards from out of state. She turned down assistance time and again….until it was too late. I know you think the President is all powerful, but unless a Governor’s actions are shown to be totally negligent or insane….the President can’t do a thing about it. As long as Blanco kept refusing help….then we had to do without.
As for FEMA…they are NOT first responders. That job goes to the state and local enforcements and emergency personnel. FEMA is a clearing house for assistance and organization. They are NOT an all purpose ATM and Rescue Squad.
Yeah there were mistakes made….but to say that the Federal Government didn’t babysit us enough is giving them way more power than they actually have. States rights are still in effect.

The Feds have no fucking business stepping in unless they are asked to help. I worked a flood in Alaska a few years ago. An area the size of West Virginia flooded. We did not ask the Feds for one fucking thing. We had a Jolly Green Giant doing some search but not rescue, the ground forces did that.

No we’re staying put Skye. We will get kicked by Gustav, but it looks like we’re mostly going to get really, really wet. We may see some Tropical Storm force winds, but he looks to be sliding south under us, so that means we’re going to get the rainy side of him. Country Red and I went this morning and picked up a generator, and we have emergency lights and we’re getting ready. Plus everyone in the house is armed…..so we’ll be fine. JB may have to stay on base depending on how bad the weather is to help keep security on the gates going….but we don’t anticipate more than a day or two of things being out of sorts. :em69:

He failed to plan, he failed to prepare, he failed to make any contingency preparations, he did not have food drops, water drops, evac plans, evac routes, evac staff, storm damage staff, repair staff, preplanned egress routes, competent police officers, a coordinated disaster plan, command and control centres, dedicated radio frequencies, helicopter management of egress routes, outlying evac centres with all necessary supplies..he sat on his butt and waited for the government to come bail out his ass.
For fuck’s sake, his cops were so badly trained they beat feet as well. How is President Bush to blame for the fact the local police were snivelling cowards?
Where I sit right now is in a street with a preplanned total evac plan already laid out, routes, transport, positioned escorts. Down to the street and house level.
Fire, flood, storm, lightning, hurricanes, tornadoes, dust devils and attacks from mutant star goats from the planet Fintlewoodlewix III..we are prepared for every single possible contingency.
If we have a natural disaster pending, the orders go out “This is command. Execute Red One, Red Two, Red Five. This is not a drill”.
The rest is SOP because all we have to do is execute The Plan.
