Looks like it’s no longer confined to EUrabia and the Great Northern Wasteland (via Hot Air):
A seven-hour standoff in Lewisville ended when police entered the home to find it was empty.
Police surrounded an area they believed might have been a possible hiding spot for a man suspected of murdering his two teenage daughters, who were both found shot to death in their father’s taxi cab just outside the Omni Mandaly Hotel at Las Colinas.
Yep, that would be in the Imperial Neighborhood, alright. The police are of course ever so puzzled as to what might have caused a father to brutally murder his own teenaged daughters:
While the standoff ended with no sign of Said, police said they are still searching for a motive that may have led the father to possibly murder his two teenage daughters, one of whom called 911 from a cell phone near the spot where the girls were later found.
Police said they are looking into the possibility that the father was upset with his daughters dating activities.

Sisters, Amina, 18, and Sarah, 17, were each shot to death. Friends of the girls say their father was Egyptian and critical of popular American lifestyles. “I’m definitely 100% sure that it was her dad that killed her,” said Kathleen Wong, a friend of the dead teenagers.
Wong says the girl’s father was verbally abusive and that Sarah, especially, lived in fear. “She’s always told me that she was always so scared of her dad,” says Wong. “Even at school if a teacher joked around like, ‘I’m gonna tell your parents about this’, she would like totally flip out and start crying like, ‘please don’t tell’.”

I’ve had Moslem students and they’ve been wonderful young men and women. Their parents have been supportive of my efforts as a teacher and I’ve been proud to have known them.
That said, I believe that this guy can expect no mercy from a Texas jury. Even a jury from the Peoples’ Republic of Travis County (Austin) might gleefully sentence this bag of offal to lethal injection. At the base, this is what the “Religion of Peace” is.
There is no honor in this honor killing. You live in my country, you assimilate to my country’s values. In my country fathers do not kill their daughters because they don’t conform to some 8th century concept of behavior. This what the Islamofascists want for all of us.

This is just so depressing. I can’t yet care about the sac o’ shite murderer – my thoughts are with the girls.
These girls were beautiful, with their whole lives ahead of them. Their pictures seem to show them always smiling – which seems more poignant given their lives of constant fear.
I suspect that this indomitable spirit, that allowed them to smile through the fear, would have taken these girls far and is probably what led to their murder. Spirit in women doesn’t seem to be appreciated in any honor/shame culture.
So they have had their futures stolen. They will not know the light-hearted silliness of college years, the butterflies in the stomach before the first date with the love of their life, the magic of the perfect wedding, the wonder of the first child..
I pray that Amina and Sarah find peace in the arms of the heavenly father.

Even in the small town in which I live the police are smarter than that. SEVEN HOURS!!! I don’t know how long law enforcement should wait before attempting entry into a suspects home in the face of absolutely no resistance but I’m pretty sure the limit is WELL before seven hours have elapsed.
Is it too much to ask if the police are still searching for the father? Any bets on which direction he might be headed? Say, south of the border, down Mexico way?

If I knew the laws to assimilate in and respect the Canadian culture were to remain, heck, I’d consider it even though I can hardly pronounce the name of the joint! I agree with the reasoning that the punishment for honor killings (stupid phrase) has to be more brutal to have an effect. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. As a country we have been doing exactly that. We have talked until we are blue in the face.
