Getting in trouble for being “anti-socialist”, “anti-collectivist”, “selfish” in school was like a badge of honor. Actually, the Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Fuehrer theme was used specifically during the campaign in 1937-1938 for the Anschluss with Austria. Whether it was used before or after that, I don’t know. But its sub-theme of subordination of oneself and one’s nation to a mystical “leader” is exactly what Obambi’s campaign is following. It’s not just Service to the Country, a theme with which most of us would not take issue. It’s the compulsory “volunteerism” and forced regimentation that I find more than a little similar to the Goebbels/Riefenstahl formula. If Obambi wins and they start with the torchlight parades, I’m staying overseas in the third-world shithole I live in now. At least you know where you stand with the local brownshirt cops, who make no effort to conceal their corruption or brutality.

My site is a ways from most housing, it’s mainly a bunch of wholesale places selling cheap calculators and watches. I’ve got 12 foot walls all around me and steel gates. If I can get here, I should be fairly safe. Getting out may be the problem. I may bring my dog down for a few days beforehand and get him use to the sounds of the place then I’ll have an early warning system.
I’m not too worried, just cautious. :em96:

They didn’t want to know if I had a gun, but suggested I get one, along with a good escape plan. They also suggested to either sell off or pack all valuables. I will quote one officer from Markham: “They will be trying to kill anything that moves and burn anything that doesn’t, so don’t try to be a hero.”
This house is just one step above kindling, so, while it will pretty to see it combust, I don’t want to be in it when it does.
Methinks the I-57 corridor will be very busy come election night.
