Change We Can Be… Aww… Fuggit…
Posted by: Emperor Misha I in Socialist Swine, The Obamessiah2:37 PM
Remember that cut-off when Dear Leader announced that you were all of a sudden “rich” and had to let him steal your earnings to “spread the wealth around?”
You can be excused for being a bit confussled at this point, because Dear Leader started out at $250,000, then adjusted it down to $200,000, then Hairplugs Robinette kicked it down to $150,000, and now Bill Richardson has lowered the boom to $120,000.
At this point, all we can Hope is that they’ll leave us a bit of Change™.
Feeling motivated about Getting Out The Damned Vote yet?
We thought so.

Well, we knew that they had to keep lowering the threshold, and will continue to do so until everyone who actually pays taxes is included in the definition of “Rich”.
Too bad they slipped up and started the precipitous drop early. That should convert a few people who thought it was ok for “Those greedy bastards making $250k or more!” when the NFMW* effect touches them like a pedophile at an unsupervised Halloween Party.
Doesn’t sound like quite such a good idea now, does it?

Looks like pretty soon they will be at the $40,000 threshhold.
Right where Joe Wurzelbacher is now, poor guy. Pretty soon, those who actually have a job will be considered “the rich”.

Bit by bit the truth continues to leak out. Little wonder why The One keeps exhorting his fawning followers to vote early before they realize they’re the ones who are being hoodwinked and bamboozled.

My sincere apologies to Brutus:
Bankruptcy and inflation shall be so in use
October 31st, 2008 at 3:54 PMAnd dreadful failed business plans so familiar
That accountants shall but smile when they behold
Their 401k’s quarter’d by the hands of Barack;
All pity choked with custom of subprime deeds:
And Barney Frank’s spirit, raging for revenge,
With Biden by his side come hot from the botox,
Shall in the Congress with a voice of Change
Cry ‘Hope,’ and let slip the capital gains tax;
That this financial deed shall smite those above $120,000
With lazy democrats, groaning for redistribution.

http://thebobofiles.com/?p=595#comment-1535 This is also a bit of “points to consider” type of stuff. We’ve talked about it here, and I’m not real sure if this exact thing wasn’t already done, but it’s a fresh reminder. I went and got some more -06 yesterday, my stock is getting more where I want it. God, I hope this is the wake up call. It’s actually looking fairly safe for us, once you get past the “smoke and mirrors” of the msm. But we can NOT sit complacent. We only have 4 days as of this writing. In 5 we can either set up the OFFENSE or the DEFENSE. Those who have not already got their DFPs in place.

40 K a year, Rich?
Welcome to “Trickle up Poverty” from Obama & Co.
Of course the liberal elite won’t be subjected to such treatment because they backed “the one” untill Obama suspects them of disloyalty….

Bumper sticker I saw the other day, that is quite apropos:
“Republicans think every day is the Fourth of July.
Democrats think every day is April 15.”
Ain’t it the truth!

Just to quibble a point, but Nov 4th may only give us the foreshadow of doom. The :em72: head doesn’t get inaugurated until Jan. 20th. I wouldn’t put off getting ready, but there are two months before he can do anything. Like Misha (I’m sure), my “stock up” money went to fix my truck this week. The bitch (my F-150) gives me 11 years, due to loving care, with no complaints and craps out now when there is no money.
Another paycheck next week, so I’m just a little behind.

I think it’s fair to say that the definition of ‘rich’ is anyone who is not ‘poor’. Now, define ‘poor’.
‘Nuff said?

Not being able to attend your family Thanksgiving because then you won’t have the money for Christmas.
October 31st, 2008 at 5:49 PMUsing
I think I get where you’re going. How does not having money for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas equate with ‘poor’. No snark. I’m seriously asking.
October 31st, 2008 at 5:54 PMUsing
Because if I had an extra $100 for gas, I could both see my family for Thanksgiving and give Christmas presents to my kids. It’s one or the other. We live pretty close to the bone. Paycheck to paycheck. I’m not eating Top Ramen yet, but I’d sure like to make more than $14.00 per hour.
I’d just die to be “middle class” like Obambi defines it.
October 31st, 2008 at 6:00 PMUsing
I’m not trying to be a smarta** here, but the term ‘extra’ kinda takes you out of ‘poor’ into ’short’, right?
You’re reaction to Obambi’s definition of middle class is what I’m getting at. When I stepped out of the gate at Subic and saw children jumping into a sewer to retreive pennies I thought that defined poverty. When I came home and heard the people next door to me who owned their home, had a color TV in every room, two cars, etc. my head nearly exploded. I’m not just talking about ‘relative’, but what deprivation really means.
‘Defining diviancy down’ is the kind of thing I mean, and what I felt this thread was getting at.
October 31st, 2008 at 6:13 PMUsing
Well, you’re right. At the rate the Obamessiah is going, I WILL be his definition of middle class….in about another 24 hours. He will begin to define middle class as a family of five making $27K per year.
I feel so much better. And I know what “poverty” means. I’ve worked in Mexico. But being “American” means I don’t have to live like a peon in some third world shithole to be considered “poor”.
Just think…if I made $2 less an hour, I’d qualify for food stamps. WHILE WORKING FULL TIME.

And besides: the Obamoids are behind the curve on this. Erstwhile demoncrat majority House leader, Dickless Gephardt defined as rich, anybody with disposable income and no long term debt. B.O. has two days left to get to that level.

Two months of dread, anticipation and preparation in the business world can change a great deal of the rest of the world. If I know there’s incoming fire, I dig in and make sure nothing important is exposed, and I’m sure anyone with the brains to have accumulated enough assets to worry about will have enough brains to protect them.
Every time Sen. Obama’s poll numbers go up, the Dow plummets. When the polls fall, the Dow rockets.

@ tvfoh, LC:
exactly. e.g., Ted Kennedy, whose family made their fortune selling illegal booze during prohibition, has all his money (estimated to be $500 million) in offshore accounts and pays less taxes than your average (very) small business owner. paying taxes is a “patriotic” duty for us shmucks, but not for these criminals.
