From the looks of it, the gay movement is trying to gin up a boycott of Utah. You know what? If their state government and Chamber of Commerce can stand some name calling; it won’t hurt a bit. Back in the 1980’s we in Colorado were the official “hate state” and subject to one of their boycotts. The reason? El Paso County [that's Colorado Springs, the most conservative part of the state] decided they had to have one of those trendy “Diversity Codes”. The consultants they contracted to draw it up slipped in mandatory affirmative action hiring quotas for the politically correct racial groups, women, and gays for the county and all companies that did business with the county. The County Commission went chiroptera-feces over the idea of quotas to begin with, and affirmative action quotas for gays in particular and tossed the whole thing.
A local car dealer, Will Perkins, got pissed off at the deception and started a statewide initiative and got a measure passed into law that barred “special privileges” for any group to stop anyone else from forcing quotas. It passed overwhelmingly. The gay community went crazy and declared a boycott of Colorado. Ya know, it did not seem to do a whole lot. But we were the butt of the nation’s PC hatred for quite a while, until our all Democrat appointed state supreme court overturned it.
It strikes me, that anything that keeps Californians out of a state in the center of the country is a good thing. In fact if it keeps Leftists out in general, it would even be worth whatever miniscule cut in business would occur.

I blogged on this here, and I guess I’m on the fence right now. I still hold the view this guy is wrong, wrong, wrong, however I am going to take a “let’s wait and see” look at things as well.
Really, Do we have any other choice in the matter? Not that I can see. No I am not going moonbat, no I am not saying I support him, I think given enough rope he’ll twist in the wind.
The bit about Seances and all that was way out of bounds, it was a bad choice, very insulting, and I certainly wasn’t happy with that.
The part about the 1st dogs, and him being a “mutt” I don’t think he or his handlers meant for him to be that candid, but he was grasping for a life preserver, that even left my snarlen’ mug with a chuckle.
One thing I picked up; is watch him in the opening few minute and you’ll see one thing. Fear. Don’t watch his face so much as him swallowing rapidly and repeatedly, he damn near looking like he is choking, this guy if my view stinks of fear in those moments.
This is front of a gushing, still panting in the orgasmic afterglow press corps? Why is he so scared?
At points he is damn near trembling, Stage fright on a massive scale, and probably the overwhelming feeling he now realizes he is already in some neck deep shit, all the rhetoric and platitudes are done, he’s in the belly of the beast, and he knows it.
If he shows that sort of fear on a world stage he (and WE the people) is fucked, the Iranians and other ME countries place very large amounts of emphasis on the principle of courage. He starts umming and Ahhhing around Dinner Jacket and the fucker is going to eat him for breakfast.

I promise to work just as hard for unity and bipartisanship as the Democrats did for the last 8 years. I further promise to use the same descriptive words they used to describe a sitting president and the same tone in which they were said. I promise to be as dedicated to finding fault and publishing it and I will be just as dedicated to making sure it is correct. Well technically he did supposedly call Mrs. Reagan directly and she apparently accepted his apology. Which was classy of her. I find it funny though that nobody else has mentioned that it was Mary Todd Lincoln who held the seance, not Mrs. Reagan. I didn’t know that of course, I found that elsewhere, but I’m surprised nobody else here didn’t mention it yet.
Not that it really matters, it’s pretty classless to have made the joke in the first place. Of course, classless jokes are funny anyway. Admit it, guys, it was rude, classless, and funny. The idea of him consulting Reagan on ANYTHING for ANY reason (even were he still alive) is so completely unbelievable that even the complete classlessness of the statement can’t quite outweigh that. Bush is only the “little Satan” in the Obamessiah’s demonology compared to Reagan. And the five or six “uhs” in that one sentence alone was pretty funny too.
As I have said IRL to people, if this guy will stop to think first he can be a decent president. Yes you all know that’s true, he’s not as stupid as we wish he was. He’s close, but not quite. But when he tries to make any decision on instinct he’s going to blow it. And includes the decision on how to answer a question he isn’t expecting and doesn’t have a scripted answer ready for him. And here I thought making fun of Bush’s dumb decisions was fun. Give this guy a few years and we’ll have material to last us twenty or more.

Obama best have his finger on the pulse of the CIA and DIA while in office. The “reichwing” rethugs sabotaged the Carter presidency by meddling in Iran without Carter knowing the extent of the damage until the Iranian Embassy hostage crisis broke on the scene, virtually crippling his presidency for a 1000 plus days.
No matter what Carter tried shy of an invasion, he couldn’t get the hostages released. Then when Reagan/H.W. Bush stepped into office the hostages are magically released. It was all a setup to squeeze the Dems and to make sure they didn’t have more than one term in the Whitehouse. The purpose of the op was to make the Dems seem ineffectual.
This is not speculation on my part, but has been documented as being so. The “rethugs” shored up the Shah along with his brutal CIA trained secret police agency, SAVAK creating incredible hatred among the Iranians for the U.S. and its constant medding in Iranian affairs. The Ayatollah Khomeini exiled in France returned a hero to a people seeking revenge and release from U.S. hegemony.
The rest is history; ie., another case of CIA bungling and failure and agency that is basically orchestrated by “rethugs” such as H.W. Bush, Dr. Kissinger and a host other shadowy mattoids. The end result was tilting the outcome of an election and insuring Carter was to be a single term president.
Make no mistake the “rethug” neocons are scheming right now on what to “pull off” to make sure they are back in the Whitehouse in four years. Obama is at high risk of being another Jimmy Carter.

There’s no guarantee we will survive, there’s no guarantee we will get people to wake up to what a foolish notion socialism is, etc etc etc. And just the same, there is no guarantee he won’t listen to his token “rethuglican” adviser (assuming he has one at all, of course) and decide to run to the middle on just enough to prevent the collapse of his party that we all so badly hope for.
Only God can state as fact before it happens, for only He has the power to make it so.
