OSAMA bin Laden is planning an attack against the United States that will “outdo by far” September 11, an Arab newspaper in London has reported.
And according to a former senior Yemeni al-Qaeda operative, the terrorist organisation has entered a “positive phase”, reinforcing specific training camps around the world that will lead the next “wave of action” against the West.
The warning, on the front page of an Arabic newspaper published in London, Al-Quds Al-Arabi - and widely reported in the major Italian papers - quotes a person described as being “very close to al-Qaeda” in Yemen.
The paper is edited by Abdel al-Bari Atwan, who is said to be the last journalist to interview Osama bin Laden in 1996. According to the report, bin Laden is himself closely following preparations for an attack against the US and aims to “change the face of world politics and economics”. The operative is quoted as saying that “this will be shown by the fact that we now control a major part of the south of Somalia”.
The temptation is almost TOO great…
But no, we must resist. It’s not the first time that the rotting corpse of has-bin Laden issues a threat of imminent apocalyptic destruction, “and this time we REALLY mean it, it is SO going to happen this time!”, and in the past our Imperial response has always been “yeah right, whatever, you old dead smear of decayed tissue. Bring it. We’ll be here all week. Do try the veal. Yawn.”
Not to say that we should become complacent, of course, they’re still out there and they are most assuredly still trying to pull something off (and getting killed in wondrously large numbers while doing so), but we’re reasonably sure that they’d be issuing threats like this no matter who had won last Tuesday.
We do note, however, that it seems like the Obamanator’s Mythical “Teach the World to Sing in Perfect Harmony as Soon as He is Elected” Love Ray™ isn’t working all too well. Guess what? They still hate us! Imagine our surprise!
Our main misgiving is that, for all of his obvious “compassionate conservatism” faults, President Bush still managed to confine them to hating themselves to death rather than us, and we have sincere doubts that Mr. “Slash the Military by 25% and Stop All Development of New Weapons” Obumfuck is going to be quite as effective.
“Hey, Mr. Biden! It’s your global test on line 3. Are you and your boss ready to fuck it up like you said you would? Alright, I’ll patch it right through.”

That’s what the Clintons did, after all; they used the FBI and IRS as weapons against the political opposition or anyone who was unfortunate enough to get in the way. And I notice that Obama’s “new politics of hope and change” includes lots of former Clinton minions like Rahm Emanuel…
…and while the Clintons were using federal enforcement agencies for political dirty tricks, Islamic extremists carried out the first attack on the World Trade Center and planned the next, while actual domestic homegrown extremists gutted downtown Oklahoma City with a truck bomb and bombed the Olympics.

What concerns me even more, is Obama will resort to the same thing jimmy carter did. And that is to do nothing. OR If faced with the aftermath of another attack on our soil, he will go into extreme panic mode and deploy nukes (not that I would be adverse to their use, but come on: all other avenues need to be at least looked at first, and then a very good understanding of what the *cost* will be to us if we do so, needs to be thought through.) I think Carter for all his faults (and they are legion) knew what would happen if he had ever wanted to push the button. And that along with his being nothing more then the basest of cowards, made him stay that option.

Well I just spotted this article that Obama intends to govern by executive order aka rule by decree. Evidently without even waiting for confirmation of cabinet officers and department heads. Sounds to me like an updated variant of the old Enabling Act. And the concept of “bringing us all together” translates into gleichschaltung.

Hey, I’ve taken to disaster preparedness with a new passion recently, and have been putting together a personal 72 Hour Bag for my vehicle since I’m in college now. I got the list for the needed materials off Kim’s site.
Could someone point me towards a list of materials needed for sheltering-in-place in the face of damned near anything? And reputable dealers I can purchase them from? Dad and I are going to partially convert the basement into a shelter, or at least a store room. It’s not a proper fallout shelter, but it’s better than nothing.

Threats of “impending attack” is a good way to maintain a “state of fear” that will allow Obami baby to twist and misuse his office in my humble opinion.
Bin Laden maggot-infested carcass is in no position to threaten anybody, his followers are too busy diving for cover at the hand of our respective Nations’ forces to be a direct threat…
Wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye out though, just for safety sake…
