“And That $700,000,000,000 Bailout We Just Billed You For?”
Posted by: Emperor Misha I in Useless Swine2:00 PM
“…well… there’s been a change of plans. They’re not going to be spent on ‘toxic assets’ after all. Instead, we’ll hand them out to our friends. Hey, you didn’t really think we were going to do what we promised to do, did you? Sheesh, you people are such suckers! Enjoy paying off the debt, Americans. Me, I’m off to the Bahamas.”
Not that we didn’t see it coming.

700+ billion they can spend however they want. I see ACORN getting a cut! Ahh, gotta love Washington lying to get our money….

What the hell? Wasn’t that the point of this entire idiotic exercise?

I think I’m going to take out some loans (since I don’t have any), and run up my credit card (but it’s only got a 3,000 limit on it), and then default on both.
After all, I paid for some of this; I should be able to get the benefits of it! Maybe next will be the cell phone industry, and I can run my bill WAAAAAY up…

awh,
I still believe that this whole mortgage “crisis” and bailout was orchestrated.

Why yes, yes it was.
But now that they got their blank check, they don’t give a shit. Hello, America, you’ve been screwed again.

Is it time to start executing these scum bags yet?

W. is still the pres until Jan 20. I think he needs to prove he has some cojones and hold congress’ feet to the fire. The dems are starting to act like they are all “in charge” already.
This will all come to back to bite Bush, I have no doubt. Won’t matter that Bambi is pres. It will ALWAYS be Bush’s fault.

Our buddy Barney is saying that we won’t Give the automakers 25 billion, we’ll give the automakers 25 billion in exchange for a stake. Ummm, why does that sound like the beginning of a financial takeover to me? I hope the board of directors know how to Goose Step.
Meanwhile, AIG is on the line to recieve another 40 Billion, this time from the TARP funds. The big banks are getting money thrown at them whether they need it or not, and the little banks and other financial institutes are lining up for thier piece of the pie.
I’ve got two questions rattling around in my noggin…
1. Am I going paranoid, or is the US government trying to buy socialism?
November 12th, 2008 at 6:20 PM2. How much more money can the feds spend before the Federal government itself runs into liquidity issues? There is a bottom to the Federal piggy bank isn’t there? Somewhere way down there? Am I going to wake up in a not too distant future and start my stove with a stack of worthless greenbacks?

You know, it wouldn’t be the first time a socialist took over private business while leaving the owners in nominal control in order to make it not look like socialism.
Quite a clever little Austrian, he was.

No. It wasn’t orchestrated, but the crisis that allowed it to be passed was CREATED by the demonrats. And obambi is going to make it worse.
I told you guys when this idea of buying up the “toxic” debt (read that as greedy topsiders taking advantage of idiots in Washington who don’t understand basic market tenets) would bankrupt an entire industry - mine - and that it wouldn’t happen, COULDN’T happen because of the logistics.
The federal government could never buy all the foreclosed homes and defaulted mortgages, sit on them until “the market corrected” and then sell them for a profit.
No way.
One of the things that these idiots admitted today is that they couldn’t “put a price” on those assets. Know why?
BECAUSE IT CHANGES EVERY FUCKING HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In real estate the value of any asset is “Willing Seller, Willing Buyer”. What happens when the feds come in and say “okay, sell it to us.”
Gee, ya think that value is going to go the way of obambi’s ego on a giant coke hit?

Would have been nice if they had put a dab of Vaseline first before sticking it to their citizens…
And when the politicians get desperate enough for money to replace what they’ve been wasting to prop up their buddies, the saving accounts you own will be “borrowed” to continue this huge farce… (strange, I don’t feel like laughing…)
Here, the Bank of Canada has started to throw money left and right to insure “sufficient liquidity and insure assets” which is bankers’ talk signifiying “we don’t have a clue how to stop this mess”…
Someone gimme a beer…

Oh yes, a plenty. Our beer stores carry an extremely wide variety of beer from all over New Brunswick, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Ontario, along with some imported goodies such as Heineken, Tuborg, Stella Artois and many others.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that we Canucks drink a lot of beer… :em93:
