Here’s the next issue that must not, EVER be talked about, presumably because it “distracts from the real issues”, whatever in the name of Socrates’ left nut those might be.
So now we’re not allowed to talk about his wife’s statements when she’s on the campaign stump, stumping for him?
Damn, is there anything other than licking his feet and getting tingles down our legs that we’re allowed to do in this election season? Because, if that’s all we’re allowed to do, then we’ll just take the rest of the year off since the MSM has that particular angle covered so well that we fear they might send hitmen around if we try to encroach on their messianic worship of Black Racist Jesus.
Sen. Barack Obama ripped into a Republican ad today that targets comments made by his wife, Michelle, and called the GOP tactic “low class” and “detestable.”

The Illinois senator told “Good Morning America” that he expects hardball tactics from the Republicans if he becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.
“But I also think these folks should lay off my wife,” he told “GMA” as his wife chuckled beside him.
Tell your idiot wife to keep her pie hole shut and keep her ingrate, useless body far separate from your campaign, and you shall have your wish. Except it’s a little bit late now, but if she’d kept her bovine blather to herself from the beginning, then she wouldn’t be part of the campaign now. But she (or maybe you dragged her into it, but we somehow doubt that) made herself a part of it, so she’s fair game now.
…a GOP Internet campaign in Tennessee has an ad featuring Michelle Obama’s comments during the long Democratic campaign that “for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.”
Michelle Obama was asked about the ad on “GMA,” but her husband said, “Let me just interject on this.”
“The GOP, should I be the nominee, I think can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record,” Obama said. “I’ve been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I’ve said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That’s what they do.”
That’s what everybody does, your side included. It’s called “politics.” It’s funny how your lack of experience shows every time you flap your gums, Black Racist Jesus. Funny as in “painting [whatever you've said or done] in the most undesirable light possible” being the single most easy job any oppo research group has ever been assigned to do. At this point, we’re convinced that a group of lobotomized monkeys could do it. All they’d have to learn would be to cut and paste.
“But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they’re going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,” he said.

I disagree. To me it is a big deal.
All of the greatest Presidents had one thing in common: they all loved America more than themselves. Take a look at the best of the last century. Reagan did. Truman did. FDR did. TR did. They all spoke of America in glowing terms, and they all wore their patriotism on their sleeves.
For someone who supposed to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution for the next for years, that quality is necessary.
Imagine FDR slandering the troops during WWII (aka John F’ing Kerry), or Reagan refusing to salute the flag, or Truman publicly saying Americans are fat and greedy and stealing the worlds resources.
Obama is the next Jimmy Carter. He’s a product of the leftist intelligencia, which sees America as the great problem. To Obama, Americans are not the noble lot which has sacrificed to save the world from facism, or donated billions for everything from famine and AIDS relief in Africa, to tsunami victims in Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka. No, to Obama, Americans are bitter, gun-toting, bible-thumping, racist, rednecks who steal the world’s resources, and bully innocents like Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chavez, and the leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas.
Well pardon me if I have nothing but disdain and contempt for his socialist, America-hating ass. Besides, the best way to really gauge someone is by the people with which they surround themselves. Obama cloaks himself in the company of racists and terrorists - people who rail against whitey, or take pride in bombing government buildings.
The fact that so many can ignore his faults saddens me.

And not to pile on to LC Grits, because I see what he meant and, compared to everything else, Obambi’s refusal to wear a flag pin (until now, when he suddenly can’t be caught dead without one) is really small potatoes. But if that were the only thing, then it would still be a huge deal to me.
When I joined, voluntarily, what was by every analyst considered to be the losing side back in ‘85 (well, we’d be the losing side no matter what the final outcome because we’d be dead by then), I joined because I loved my country and what she stood for more than life. I didn’t join for “glory”, I knew there would be precious little of that for somebody who’d been crushed under the treads of a Soviet tank, I didn’t join because I thought we, meaning me and my buddies, would “win”, because we had no chance in Hell of surviving the initial onslaught of the hot part of WWIII and I sure as Hell didn’t join because I “knew” that it was never going to happen. Back then, the common wisdom was that it was going to happen. Reagan changed that and brought down the regime that would have killed me and my buddies without as much as a “by your leave.”
I joined because my country was bigger than me. I joined because she stood for everything that I believed in and because life without that would be worse than no life at all. I joined because that grand old lady had stood for a thousand years and through more wars than most other countries on the planet, and I considered my silly little stint on Earth nothing compared to that. In the end, we’re all dead anyway. I joined because I believed, and believe, that it’s better to die for something than to just die, because die we must.
And, as a consequence, knowing this from the perspective of a common grunt, I cannot conceive a commander in chief of a country not feeling that times a thousand at least. Your country is second only to G-d, and if I had to sacrifice everything in the world to keep her alive, it would be my happy and solemn duty to do so. As I laid down my oath to Old Glory, she became sacred, more important than me, and I would sooner destroy a thousand nations than see her trampled in the dirt.
“…and the republic for which she stands…” means a lot to me. She is the embodiment of what we are, and I consider it not a duty, but an HONOR to be allowed to wear her.
She isn’t a piece of cloth, she is US, and anybody who spits on her or refuses to wear her is not somebody who deserves to call him or herself an American. They are filth, and they are worthless, for they have no honor. They are all “me, me, ME!”, and I have no use for those, no use at all. I would sacrifice a million of them to save ONE true American, and I wouldn’t bat an eyelid while doing so.

Unknowingly, BO is correct. America is racist. It’s institutional. But which direction that racism flows is where I disagree. When we still have affirmative action, hiring quotas, hate crime laws and the aclu fighting primarily against Christians, the system is geared toward minorities. This is racism, or bigotry if you prefer.
Until the field is level, with everyone competing according to their own merits, we will be a nation of racists/bigots. Only the most qualified should get the job. A murder is not more horrific because of the reason, the person is still dead. You all understand this. Why doesn’t everyone else?
