Are you looking for the CURRENT VERSION of the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler?

Ladies & gentlemen… children and small pets of all ages… sub-retarded, helmet-wearing, bib-drooling LefTards of all nationalities: Take a bathroom break, grab a cooler full of cold (or warm) beverages, several packs of smokes (or a few tubs of your favorite snack food) and then go over and read one of the finest bitch-slaps ever delivered in the history of the Whorehouse on the Potomac™.

Here’s just a tiny sample of the telephone pole-sized ClueBat™ that Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R- People’s Republik of Kalifornistan) whipped out and jammed up The Gorebecile’s™ rectum in a sideways fashion.

I would like to point out that before the introduction of cattle, millions upon millions of buffalo dominated the Great Plains of America. They were so thick you could not see where the herd started and where it ended. I can only assume that the anti-meat, manmade global warming crowd must believe that buffalo farts have more socially redeeming value than the same flatulence emitted by cattle. Yes, this is absurd, but the deeper one looks into this global warming juggernaut, the weirder this movement becomes and the more denial is evident. (Emphasis mine—B.)

It’s not often that we see someone in Washington, D.C. The World’s Largest Brothel™ whip out his testicles and give a good, ol’ fashioned tea baggin’ to the idiot EnviroNazis. We, down here in the Imperial Dungeon™ Game Room™, stand up and give a rousing ovation to the good Representative and can only hope that his display of Testicular Tempestitudinalness™ will set an example for the other sniveling pussies in Congress and they start fighting back against the Marxist Mother Gaians™ who wish to force economic and cultural suicide upon this great nation.

A quote from the most excellent Mr. Rohrabacher’s speech:

I’m sorry, fellows. Do you really think the world is filled with morons?

Yes, Mr. Rohrabacher, they do. And, unfortunately, they’re absolutely right. 90% of the world’s population, our voting population included, do not have the common sense to come in out of the rain. And that’s not just me being pissed off, that’s according to highly scientific studies, complete with bell curves, normal distributions, surveys and all.

There just aren’t that many of us inhabiting the right slope of the bell curve and, what’s worse, we’ll always be in the minority. It’s pure mathematics. Nothing can be done to change that.

Short of changing to a system of meritocracy, that is, just like the Founders envisioned, but that train has long since left the station.

    One idiot, one vote.

We’re going to get it, and we’re going to get it good and hard.

And for those of you having the vapors over my previous post, let me put it to you this way:

You don’t have a problem with private companies hiring according to qualifications, do you? You don’t have a problem with the fact that you know that it’s not the janitor performing your quadruple bypass, but a highly qualified surgeon vetted thoroughly by the hospital staff before he was given the position, do you? You don’t have a problem with employees in private companies being unceremoniously shitcanned if they fuck up and create untold mayhem, suffering and heartache for innocent customers, do you? You don’t have a problem with the fact that the board of directors of private companies aren’t selected by a random gaggle of people hauled in off the street asked to cast a vote, do you?

Now tell me: Which works better, more efficiently, cheaper overall and benefiting more people on the whole? Private corporations or the federal government?

Take your time. No rush. Just make sure that you’re comfortable with your answer before you hand it in, because it WILL be graded.

    Thatisall.

I still prefer one person one vote, I think the real problem is that fact that :

    A) the importance af the duty to vote with a eduated understanding is purposely minimized (easily repaired with the return of civics class throughout the education process)

    B) the information concerning the candidates is purposely manipulated by the media (This kind of “reporting” must be stamped out)

    C) the “professional politician” One who spends a entire career in politics. (term limits for all offices PERIOD and the address to minimize “political dynastys”. )

  12. Emperor Misha I Comment by Emperor Misha I

    A) the importance af the duty to vote with a eduated understanding is purposely minimized (easily repaired with the return of civics class throughout the education process)

And who is supposed to bring that back? The same politicians who, being elected by idiots utterly ignorant of even the most basic facts about what makes a society function, have less than no interest in those same morons learning what really makes the world go around.

You’re not wrong, it’s just not ever going to happen unless we suddenly get a class of narcissist, power hungry politicians with a morbid interest in sawing off the branch upon which they are precariously perched.

    B) the information concerning the candidates is purposely manipulated by the media (This kind of “reporting” must be stamped out)

Sure. With what? Legislation? Who passes that? The same class of leeches who wouldn’t have their sinecures if it wasn’t for the benevolence and sycophancy of the media. You think they’re going to curtail the freedoms of the pimps without whom they wouldn’t have a livelihood?

    C) the “professional politician” One who spends a entire career in politics. (term limits for all offices PERIOD and the address to minimize “political dynastys”. )

This one I don’t understand. What is the problem with being a professional? If you invest your entire life in a profession, any profession, and you turn out to be good at it, how’s this a problem? In a true meritocracy you’d either have to perform or you’d be out on your fucking ear. So what if your family has spent their entire lives honing those skills? If you’re good at it and you provide desirable results, I don’t honestly give a good fuck whether your entire bloodline has been in the business or not.

Again: I’m talking about a meritocracy where you are hired and fired based only based on your skills, just like the corporate world that most of us live in. I’m NOT talking about what we have now where the fact that your last name is Kennedy automatically buys you 50 million votes. Sure, the same thing might happen in a meritocracy, but it would only happen ONCE. If you can kick the assholes that you’ve entrusted with the powers of government out in a New York minute and if that power is limited to people who know what the fuck they’re talking about (retards addicted to Oprah and Jerry Springer need not apply), then the potential damage of the odd assclown sneaking through the filter is as limited as it is in the private sector.

Again: Who would you rather have administrating your bypass operation, a professional surgeon employed in the private health care sector or a janitor from the DMV?

Considering the Libtards teaching throughout this process, this will help how?

    B) the information concerning the candidates is purposely manipulated by the media (This kind of “reporting” must be stamped out)

Agree with the argument that the media manipulates candidate information but would argue that disenfranchising those too stupid to recognize it would be more effective then stamping it out, (Consider the fact that the only way to stamp it out would be through government action, so think about who would be doing the stamping.)

    C) the “professional politician” One who spends a entire career in politics. (term limits for all offices PERIOD and the address to minimize “political dynastys”. )

If the federal government was restricted to the things they are supposed to be doing, I wouldn;t give a shit how long they serve. Term limits sre not the answer, a return to Constitutional government is.

In theory, it’s not. In reality, the human condition prevails. If you’re a professional politician, then you’re going to do what it takes to stay or advance in your profession. Compromise a few principles? Sure. Cut a few back-room deals? If necessary. Say what the people who elect you want to hear, and make sure to send as much pork their way as possible? Absolutely.

Meritocracy or not, you’re still stuck with only the best of those people who choose politics as a profession. Yeah, you can throw the bums out … but who is waiting in the wings? McVain, Obambi, Ron Paul???

Strict term limits would reset the system back to something more like the founding fathers envisioned. Average citizens who feel strongly about trying to make this country the best it can be would take a few - and only a few - years out of their life to go and serve. Because they can’t become “professional politicians,” they’re not worried about re-election, and thus are more likely to vote based on their conscience and/or principles.

    * (non-oblgatory disclaimer) I am enjoying this aspect of this thread and can see we have varying points of view, it is my hope that “context” is kept in consideration at all times as we move forward and that there is no degeneration into flaming due to differing points of view)**

Misha If you have the time and inclination can you provide your basic vision of how this meritocracy would function from representation perspective. Who would be this “board” that conducted the Hiring and (more importantly) firing? How would they be selected? Who would monitor them? What method of determination would be used to identify those eligible to vote? If it is a matter of intellect, how would that intellect be developed? What insititution would be used to impart the knowledge necessary to develop the intellect?

If your model of meritocracy could be emplaced on the political system, would a similar model also be effective in addressing the issue of the media manipulation? And I understand that the media are private corporations, but that doesnt relieve them of thier civic duties.

Blanket Statement I am very reluctant to deviate from the founding fathers vision regarding voting and the system they designed. It is not that I am above the idea of “tweaking” it to be more efficient or representative of thier ideals, but I am reluctant to engage in large modifications. I think the design has served us very very well.

Biggdogg Thanks for the support on the professional politician issue. I am of the mind that a corporate “professional” and political “professional” are not similar in analogy. What corporate position allows you to show up for work and not be productive? Say …. like voting “present” instead of Yay or Nay? WTF is that all about? Voting present?

I think there is a large number of ignorant people out there. I define them as unknowing, not incapable of learning. I also think there is a percentage of stupid people who I define as intellectually incapable of “learning” beyond a certain level.

And finally, what was the percentage of persons that vote in comparison to the actual number of eligible voters? (leave out chicago cause we know dead people vote there)

Thanks for everyones tolerance, Im writing off the cuff.

This whole thread (I tend to reluctantly agree with Misha’s comments) kind of relates to a movie I saw awhile ago:

Anybody here ever see Mike Judge’s “Idiocracy” movie/DVD from a couple of years back? The basic premise involves a guy who is frozen in our time waking up to a future wherein, because stupid people simply breed more often and with more people, the demographics of society have caused a HUGE dumbing-down of the entire populace.

Basically, no one knows how to do anything anymore, and the politicians are just as dumb. In fact, the president is now a pro-wrestler!

The movie is pretty funny in parts, but ultimately a little over-the-top, but worth a rental at least :)

I dont disagree agree with that Chuck, but I am more inclined to action designed to return to the founding fathers vision vs. something different. And the key to that last sentence is the word inclined, because (as an example) I am not theoretically opposed to “earning” or establishing the right to vote as long as the criteria for establishing that right is as reasonably inclusive as possible.

Yes it is true I am mentally fractured, in regards that I always play devils advocate within my own head, examine as many sources as possible, before I adopt a definitive standard. Now, my favorite part (so far) from the ClueBatting:

That same sort of putting together of pseudoscience wording in order to impress people is seen time and again. There are facts now evident, of course, that this can’t be ignored. And Mr. Gore’s mumbo jumbo notwithstanding, the predictions have been wrong. And the CO2 premise is wrong. The methodology that has been used has been wrong. The observations have been wrong. And the attempt to shut up those people who disagree has been wrong.

I remember Al Gore labeling me a Stalinist because when I chaired the subcommittee on Research and Science Education, I insisted that both sides be presented. There was a study on research and the environment, a subcommittee of the Science Committee. And I insisted when I was chairman of the committee that expert witnesses on both sides be present at hearings and that they address each other’s contentions. Well, to him, that is Stalinism. Well, I would suggest that the propaganda campaign of the manmade global warming alarmists has far more in common with Stalinism than does insisting that both sides of an argument be heard.

These people can’t make up their minds - yesterday, someone called in and accused Hugh Hewitt of “McCarthy-ism” for his criticism of Obama…

Okay, maybe this is my favorite part:

Well, the first time I met President Gore was during my first term in Congress back in 1989 and 1990. Al Gore then was a United States Senator. And he marched into the Science Committee room followed by a platoon of cameras and reporters. He sat in front of the Science Committee, and he demanded that President Bush, that is George W.’s father, declare an ozone emergency. And he waved in his hand a report of evidence that an ozone hole was opening up over the Northeast United States.

A few days later, the report touted by the Senator was found to have been based on faulty data, data collected by one so-called researcher flying a single-engine Piper Cub with limited technology and not much expertise. Senator Gore was demanding emergency shutdowns of factories and manufacturing plants in the Northeast. It would have had dire consequences for the American economy and for those people who worked in those plants. But they be damned, because we are out to save the planet.

Makes me wish Gore had been there, so C-SPAN could’ve snagged video of him squirming under that.

  37. LC MuscleDaddy Comment by LC MuscleDaddy UNITED STATES

    Skye,

Granted, the “winnier take all” states are …. problematic

To your other point - yes, some states get more electors based on population - but it’s usually the difference between something akin to 2 vs. 4 votes, which - for the sake of example - would still allow two 4-million-population states to defend themselves against welfare-driven depredations of a single 19-million-population state.

(not that there’s anything wrong with NY…)

Particularly important when dealing with elections/decisions having national ramifications.

Otherwise, Presidential nominees wouldn’t bother acknowledging the existence of the “middle states”, much less making decisions that would benefit them.

They wouldn’t have to, only needing the coasts to perpetuate their own careers/fortunes.

    Skye,

We don’t elect the president and thank the founders of this nation that we don’t. Each state decides how it wants to choose the members of the electoral college. Those selected members vote to decide who is elected President. Unfortunately our country has devolved into a two party system who decide on their own how they select a candidate for President.

electoral college, in U.S. government, the body of electors that chooses the president and vice president. The Constitution, in Article 2, Section 1, provides: “Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress.” However, no senator, representative, or officer of the U.S. government may be an elector. The electors are directed by the Constitution to vote in their respective states, and Congress is authorized to count their votes.

To win, a presidential candidate must have a majority in the electoral college. Before adoption of the Twelfth Amendment (1804), in the event that no candidate had a majority, the House of Representatives (voting by states, with one vote for each state) was to choose the president from among the five candidates highest on the electoral list. Then, “after the choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President”; in case of a tie the Senate would choose the vice president. The Twelfth Amendment, however, resulting from the confused election of 1800 (see Jefferson, Thomas, and Burr, Aaron) provided that electors vote for president and vice president separately. It also reduced from five to three the number of candidates from among whom the House was to choose—in case no candidate had a majority (only two presidents, Jefferson and John Quincy Adams, have been elected by the House).

  41. Unregistered Comment by Azygos UNITED STATES

    Skye,

Without the electoral college a limited number of cities (New York, Chicago, San Fransicko, Los Angles, Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle) would be selecting our President. I’m not comfortable with that. I want a say in who gets elected and the electoral college gives small rural areas a say in who gets elected. The system is not perfect and some tweaking could be done to improve it.

If yer not a citizen, your max expectation should be humane treatment - that is, no gratuitous beatings, and a trial before execution, Minimum is deportation to the furthest point from the U,S, in your home country, permanent exclusion, and tell the home country police where we plan to deliver their trash.

Oh, and if yer reading Heinlein, and understand what you read, they are not meager wheels. IIRC, the exceptions to the above rule was Police Officers, Firemen, and Federal Life Safety / Experimental personnel.

  51. LC Old Dog Comment by LC Old Dog UNITED STATES

In the Heinlein story it was Service, not just Military Service that gained Citizenship. However once you voluntered the choice was not yours, it was made by apptiude testing and based on needs of the community. So Cops, Fire Service all SERVED.

So ultimatley we are back to the individuals understanding of civic responsibility and participation. And in my mind that is the foundation solution that needs to be implemented, along with a concerted effort toward “unification” vs. multi-culturalism, when it comes to addressing some of the “issues” we are facing as a country (we meaning the US …. all the rest of you …. you’re already fucked :em95: )

I am decidedly NOT someone who subscribes to popular conspiracy theories, but the recent dramatic upswing in the already brazen nature of the “Climate Change” propaganda and power/control grab (in spite of the sheer lack of anything near conclusive evidence that such a phenomenon exists), plus the “coincidental,” outlandish and crippling surge in energy costs, have me wondering about the possibility of external manipulation. This double punch to the gut may be softening the public into accepting a fat, shit on rye sammich. China seems to have the most to gain from this scenario, seeing that they are exempt from reigning in their gargantuan carbon footprint (by virtue of the Kyoto Accord - “developing economy” my ass!), they have plenty of cheap labor and towering mountains of cash from outsourced manufacturing and multi-billion dollar deals with such patriotic companies like, say… Wally World.

The Clinton Administration taught us how nice and snuggly public servants and politicians can get with Chinese Yuans. Perhaps the Yuan is helping to fuel the Commie Greenie power grab in Washington?

    Just a thought.

BTW, my brother-in-law flies to mainland China quite often and states that air pollution there is completely off the scale. So bad he cannot see the ground most of the time aloft. WHERE IS THE GLOBAL OUTRAGE??? If we are about to experience carbon-induced mass extinction, why would the world community allow such an astronomical carbon footprint? That would be freakin’ SUICIDE, would it not???

Hmmmm… Maybe it has nothing at all to do with carbon footprints. Could it be that THIS is the real “Green” agenda:

In Heinliens book you made the choice to serve and then served where you were best suited. After you were done with your service you could get a “reserved” job such as police officer.

As I said over at Wattsupwiththat …

The irony is … the expense of complying with the agenda of the Climate Change Cult may lead to a reduction of attention towards other, REAL environmental issues.

It is our prosperity gives us the “luxury” of directing resources to protect the environment. You impair that, by inhibiting the time-management flexibility and freedom-of-movement that are facilitated by our present transportation and utility infrastructures, and you might just find that the environment ends up worse off for it … not better.
